"What do you think about me," he asked his reflection with the shyest look he could put on, he frowned and punched the mirror with half his might. The mirror shattered into about four-hundred small pieces, he smiled triumphantly as he watched the glass shatter under his fluffy fist; then he noticed something that should not have been there, glimpses of red could be seen flying around with the broken reflection. He rolled his eyes, sighed, and checked his arms and legs; there was a massive glass shard stuck in the back of his hand. He growled and reached down to the cupboard under the sink and pulled out his advanced first aid kit, he looked over the instructions for approximately point two seconds before throwing it behind him and pulling out the white bandages, a disinfectant pad, gauze, and medical tape.
He looked a little more, "fuck, my date's in, like, twelve minutes," he said as he grabbed the tweezers off the counter. "This will have to do," he sarcastically emphasized the 'will' as he spoke and used his right hand to pull out the shard in his left. He tore the disinfectant pad packaging open and pulled it from the destroyed paper, his frown was clear on his face as he forced the pad onto the large cut in his hand; he gritted his teeth in pain but withheld it. He cleaned the wound improperly and put the gauze on it, then he messily wrapped it with the bandage; he had a date to get to.
He fixed his crimson bowtie to be straighter, he then slapped his ass so hard he swore the shards on the ground and counter bounced with sound vibration; "wallet, check." He rushed out of the bathroom, downstairs, into the hallway, grabbed his keys, and slammed the door open and shut once more. He ran out to his car and started it up by pressing a button on the keys, he hopped in and started the heater, then drove away. He sped down the road and pulled up to her house just in time for her to see him get out of his car, she opened the door and met him there.
"So," Petunia started. "You ready for tonight? I wore my favorite scent just for this occasion." Her hair was up in a blue plaited love-knot, there was a beautiful purple petunia in her hair and a few lavenders in her hair; she wore a silken, mauve, dress that showed how perfect she was: Aries thought she was the prettiest girl he had ever seen.
"Marry me," he said under his breath.
"What was that?" Petunia asked as she leaned forward to hear him better.
"Oh! I said," he paused. "very leaf!"
"'Very leaf'? Is that some new slang term?"
"No! Let's just fucking go!"
Petunia rolled her eyes, "it's always swearing with you, it's like you have no filter."
He was halfway down the driveway when she finished her sentence and he didn't hear any of it, well, he chose not to. He walked around the side of the car and opened the door, with a sassy smiled, he gestured his date to go in. She smiled and nodded before sitting down and pulling her legs deep inside the car just before he slammed it with the force and might of Bellona herself. He stormed to the driver side and got in, flipping off a passing car for no reason before yanking the seatbelt and clicking it into the slot.
He noticed Petunia didn't have her seatbelt on, "hey, what's wrong?"
"Pardon?"
"Why don't you have your belt on?"
"My seatbelt?"
"Yeah, that. Why is it not on?"
"I don't need a seatbelt."
He looked at her as if he just heard some kind of satanic gibberish and reached across her, he grabbed her belt and strapped her in.
"I'm no child," she accused.
"Well, you're acting like one. Now I may be a fuckin' dick, but I will not let the prettiest lady I know go driving around without her seatbelt; it may be annoying but seatbelts save lives, buckle up."
To this, she nodded in agreement; "you're right, seatbelts do save lives. I should've just put it on."
"It's ok, we all make mistakes. Just don't make that fuckin' mistake, again."
"Ok, sir," she replied sarcastically.
He smirked on his right side so she couldn't see his joy, no one must see his true emotions; he started driving and they drove in silence for about twenty minutes before they arrived at a park. It wasn't just any park, it was a large, forest, park; he smiled and looked at the trees, you could easily see across the mile the trees filled they were so thin. He reached his hand out and casually grabbed hers; she blushed and gave his warm paw a gentle squeeze before she started walking. She didn't like walking that much but she was curious as to why he would take her here, he caught up and walked alongside her.
They came to a fork in the road after about ten minutes, "this way," he said as he lead her off the path and into the part of the park where the trees were thicker, she wasn't liking this too much but she didn't say anything. "Come on," he squeezed her hand gently. "We're almost there." There was a hint of excitement in his voice as he lead her deeper and deeper. The trees were thick and very tall; he stopped in front of a weird looking tree. It was white and black with branches that haven't been trimmed in a while. He ducked under the low hanging branches and started climbing, "you coming," he called down to her.
Petunia looked at herself mentally, she was expecting a dinner but her curiosity got the better of her. She followed him under the brush of deep green and white and started climbing behind him; "Hey!" she called.
"Yeah?"
"Never mind."
"No what was it?"
"It's nothing!"
"Ok, damn. Fuck woman, why you have to go and do me like that."
He opened a hatch in a teal colored bit of wood and held it open for her, "up here."
"Yeah, I see it, smartass." She teased.
He mocked her, "yEaH I SEe It, SmARtAsS."
"Don't mock me!"
"Then look around!"
She did as he said and saw it, he had been working on it for about a year since they met; he loved her deeply and she loved him back just as much. He sat on a soft mat and patted a mat in front of him for her to sit. She looked around, it was beautiful; the tree he used was just outside of any government jurisdiction so no one could interrupt them. The platform they were on was painted a glorious seafoam-teal and was flat, nothing on it. As she looked around she noticed a broom, the soft mats, a poorly woven box that was labeled 'blankets'n'shit'. She sat down on her legs, as if she was a princess; "did you make this?"
"Duh," he smiled, a guilty smile that was full of compassion and his natural sarcasm. She smiled back grabbed his head; their lips collided in a passionate kiss, he 'wrapped' his arms around her neck but in reality, he made sure his arms didn't touch her just in case that was something she was uncomfortable with.
She pulled back after a second that lasted an eternity, "you can put your arms around me," she said with a smile and felt the warmth of familiar arms grabbing her in another kissing embrace. They made out there for a long time before he pulled away.
"Stand up," he said.
She stood and did as he said; she watched as he changed his position to be kneeling on only one knee. She knew what was coming and tears flooded down her cheeks as she brought her hands up to her mouth, "will you," he paused. "Will you be the one to accompany me to the Zoo tomorrow?"
She stopped in her tracks and gave him a very disappointed look, "what?"
"I said, will you marry me?"
The tears came quick as she pursed her lips and smacked him over the head, "don't do that to me!" She then grabbed him in another fluffy embrace, "and yes, I will! The answer is yes!"
He smiled and hugged her back, savoring every moment.
