Today is Apple's big day, well, it was supposed to be. Allow me to explain...
Apple was excited for today because it was the swimming championships for his team and they were in the lead by a good few wins, they had three more wins before the final standoff. He was stretching in the locker room in his speedo with his teammates, laughter, cheers, and general talking rang through the concrete room. He was just as nervous and excited as all of his teammates and as he gently tossed his phone into its place in his locker it buzzed. He grabbed it and though just one text wouldn't hurt, it was from his girlfriend after all. He opened his phone and read the almost paragraph long text.
Baby <3: Hey babes, I'm sorry I can't go to your match today, I feel really sick and have come down with a fever. I'm so sorry I can't be there, I feel like an iced furnace...
He didn't know how to reply so he didn't, he simply put his shirt and shorts back on over his speedo and slipped into his sandals; he told his coach what had happened and even though his coach begged him to stay, he left.
He exited the school and got into his car, it started without much trouble and he drove straight to his girlfriend's house; he was worried for her and basically floored it to her home. Once he packed on the sidewalk, he slammed his car door and rushed inside; he took the steps nearly three at a time, counting as he went up.
He knocked on JayJay's room before waiting for the 'ok', he cracked the door open and rushed to her side. She seemed surprised but she was too sick to truly realize what was happening. Apple took JayJay in a monster bear hug and held her in his arms, "are you ok, babes?"
She nodded, "just feeling a little tired."
Apple thought back before sitting down by her, she sat up from her original position before lying back down on Apple's lap. He played with her fur and ears while wishing he had brought some cold water for her; he didn't notice the fresh glass on the bedside table until she reached over and sipped it.
He smiled at her while holding her warm body in his arms, she spoke first after a long moment of silence, "shouldn't you be swimming?"
He chuckled, "and leave you alone? No way, I live you too much for that to ever happen." he emphasized 'ever'.
She smiled and lazily spoke, her words elongated and forced, "I love you too."
