The organ played and tears streamed down Liliths eyes as she walked down the aisle alone, she paused at the alter and lifted her dress to take her first step up the glossy, white, stairs. She took her second step and looked into the eyes of her husband to be, Splendid. He was dressed in a tuxedo and had a cute bow tie on, it was purple. She made it up to him when she heard the most devastating thing she would ever hear in her life.
Someone in the crowd was screaming something about a fire, and that's when people freaked out. She turned and looked out at the audience, panic rising in her chest.
There was a piercing scream as the whole building burst into a flame that only grew larger: fire covering every inch.
Splendid saved people, as many as he could, forgetting the most important person he knew. He ran back into the flaming building and into the room with the alter. He spotted his fiancée trapped under a fallen board; she was crying for help as the flames burned her skin and destroyed her dress. He tried to pull her out, not able to see through the tears that the damage was done. She stopped screaming and smiled up at him, her cheeks wet with tears; then she hit the ground with a thud. He flew out of the building as quickly as possible and all the way out of the Milky Way, keeping his speed at a steady acceleration.
He flew through a planet made of water so hard the gravity stopped working and the water dispersed around to the planets around it, causing disasters on those planets and blowing up a few stars in the process.
He then flew back to Earth, slowing down before entering the atmosphere as to not hurt anything or anyone.
He landed by his house, his suit torn up and his emotions overflowing. He opened his door and closed it sadly before flopping on his bed and sobbing into his pillow.
About five years later he had recovered from the incident and had found a new woman, her name was Wanda. About another year passed and they were both deeply in love with eachother; he proposed on a bridge and she said yes.
The wedding was only a month after that and he was sitting in his dressing room, afraid about what would happen. A few tears rolled down his blue, furry, cheeks as he remembered his last wedding and rubbed away the tears and stood straight, he was wearing the same bow tie. He took a deep breath and clenched his fist; he told himself it wouldn't happen again.
The door opened slowly and closed, it caught his attention and he turned towards the sound. In shock he saw his previous fiancée standing there, her dress was ruined and scorched in some places and her veil hung lower then before.
She smiled at him and walked over, her feet making no noise against the glossy, white, tile. She stood in front of him and stared lovingly into his eyes that were happy yet had a certain sadness to them.
She straightened his bow tie and smiled at him, "I'm so proud of you for moving on, I only stuck around the afterlife to see you be happily married. So I'm afraid I must finally move on." and with those final words she walked out of the room, just as slowly as she had entered. The door creaked open then shut and she was gone.
Splendid rubbed his eyes and stood straight, a silent tear rolled down his eye and fell to the floor.
The organ played and Splendid watched as his bride walked down the aisle towards him, he couldn't wait and helped her up the steps. Out of the corner of his eye he saw her again, Lilith, watching from the side of the room.
At dinner he was happily eating with his friends and new wife, they sat next to eachother and laughed. Both ecstatic from the marriage.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw Lilith again; she was standing to the side of the room, watching her love. She nodded when she realized they were a happy couple, he moved on so she would to. She took her slow steps out of the room, not knowing Splendid watched her the whole time through the corner of his eye.
He politely excused himself from the table and chased after her, following her ghost all the way to the cemetery. He saw her walk towards her grave and stop, she looked onto it with something of peace and calamity.
Splendid caught up with her and ignored the tears that failed at blurring his vision. She noticed him and he stopped in front of her, face to face.
She reached up and wiped his tears from his cheeks and smiled peacefully at him, "I'm where I must be, at peace."
"But," he started as more tears filled his eyes, successfully blurring his vision and dripping down his chin. "We still haven't found your killer."
"I know who it was but I have forgiven him long ago."
"Who was it?" he asked as he slowly looked up at her, he wanted to know who ruined more then one life that day.
"I cannot tell you, I have forgiven him years ago. No one deserves any harm, please live your life the way you want to. Goodbye, my love."
It all happened so fast to Splendid and he still didn't understand as she nodded and turned gracefully; walking into the distance and disappearing into the night.
