Veronica, a yellow bat with long red locks of gorgeously curled hair, and Scar, a blue cat/lynx with black stripes and a very police like stare, were walking around Lullaby Valley's main park. Veronica was listening to Scar who was talking about a few criminals he caught that day, they were two annoying twin squirrels that kept showing up everywhere. Veronica just walked with him while listening and admiring the park. A few leaves were falling and lots of them were different shades of orange or yellow. She smirked contently as her strut slowed down slightly. Scar didn't mind the pace and kept talking, they were really annoying to him and always got on his nerves somehow.
"I have over one billion nerves in my body," she heard him say and her attention was on his cute, but angry, face. "And those two manage to get on every single one of them!" he raised his hand in anger and clenched his teeth.
"Honey, calm down," Veronica giggled. "You're going to burst a vein!" He looked at her and smiled, they both slowed to a stop near a park bench and sat down. "And if you burst, I'm not cleaning you up." she joked.
He chuckled, "you always know how to cheer me up, don't you?"
"Yup," she smiled snazzily and moved her small designer sunglasses down her nose slightly. "I have my ways."
Scar placed his large, deep ocean blue, paw on her delicate hand; she held hands back with him as they talked. His paws were so warm compared to Veronica's cold and gentle hands, she was at peace with her hands in his. She leaned over onto him and rested her head against his shoulder, he turned his head and kissed her hair gently. He kept his face buried in her hair for a moment and then he suddenly dissapeared. She sat up straight and looked around, he was no where to be seen.
"S-scar?" she called as she stood up in a concerned panic. "Scar, honey, where did you go?"
She sat up in bed and frantically looked around the large room, Scar was asleep next to her. She couldn't help but sob from the nightmare, she grabbed Scar in a cuddle and sobbed into his chest. He woke up and patted her head, then noticed the tears running down her now reddened cheeks.
"B-babe! What's wrong?" he asked in surprise and hugged her tightly. She hugged him back and sobbed into his shoulder, unable to control herself.
"Another bad dream," he guessed and she hugged tighter, he assumed that was a yes and held her in his arms. "Shh, babe, you're safe now. You're safe here." he cooed gently. After a while she stopped crying and fell asleep in his arms. He noticed this and didn't move because he was afraid if he did it would wake her up. So there he sat, with Veronica held tightly in his, big, soft arms.
The next morning, Veronica awoke with a very warm feeling all over her body and saw she was wrapped in Scars loving arms. She smiled contently and closed her eyes again.
"I saw that," he said.
"Saw what?"
"You opened your eyes, were you faking sleep?"
"No, I just woke up..?"
"Oh sorry then, you can go back to sleep then."
"Wait, were you awake all night?"
He hesitated for a moment, "no."
"Oh my god, babe you can't be doing that sort of thing! You have to go to work!"
"No it's ok," he replied with a smile. "I'll be fine."
"B-but y--"
"I will be fine, babe."
Veronica's eye twitched, "no you will not."
Her expression became serious and she placed her hands on her hips. Scar felt very intimidated by her but refused to comply.
"I'm going to work," he started. But Veronica's voice cut in.
"Lie down!" she snapped at him and he quickly obeyed. She smiled happily, "thank you!~"
She then rushed off to the kitchen to make breakfast for him, after the dream she had, she wanted him to feel just as safe as she felt last night.
She came back with a bowl of cooked oatmeal and a glass of milk on the side, she handed it to him and sat down next to him in bed. He smiled at her, "you know I have a job to do, right?"
"I'm calling you in sick, today is a day just for us, ok? Plus, you didn't get any sleep. It's only fair if you get a proper amount of sleep now."
He sighed and knew she would not be able to be convinced other wise as she grabbed his non dominate hand and held it. His fuzzy paws warm in her soft hands, she smiled gently at her then took a messy bite of oatmeal. She giggled at his now messy face and he made a kiss face at her.
She giggled and declined the kiss, he chuckled and wiped his face with a napkin she provided on the tray. After he had cleaned his face Veronica stole a kiss from his lips, he pulled away and giggled; he smiled and raised an eyebrow.
The whole day went by with Scar being babied by Veronica and not allowed to leave the bed unless he needed to use the bathroom. She insisted on it and he suspected it had something to do with the nightmare she had.
Eventually she got tired, it was around 8 o'clock and she was ready to knock out, so she climbed into bed and grabbed onto her fluffy boyfriend. She closed her eyes and leaned close against him, he smiled and put his arm protectively around her then closed his eyes as well: eventually, they both drifted off into sleep.
The next morning Scar woke up at 5am sharp, as always, and started getting ready to go to work. He was inturupted by his girlfriend, "babe, it's Sunday; You don have work today."
She was tired and had a voice as if she was groaning her words, but she just wasn't awake enough to talk properly. He facepalmed at himself and got back into his sleepwear; he climbed back into bed and she wrapped herself around him. His warmth overwhelmed her and she kicked off the blankets, wanting to be warmed only by him. He fell asleep again, feeling safe in her loving arms.
The next morning they both woke up around 7am and Veronica was the first in the shower, as always, but it was always difficult for Scar to shower due to the fact his fur coat gets heavy when wet.
After they were done with their morning routines, Veronica picked out a fashionable dress for her and a cute, also fashionable, matching outfit for Scar. They looked like a dream couple and made the clothes work.
Veronica had a purple, tubetop, dress that had a light purple overcoat. The overcoat was small and see-through so she could still flaunt off the cute design onmf the dress. Scar dint like his outfit but decided to humor his girlfriend, he was wearing a light yellow dress-shirt with frills and a frilly purple robe. He had a smug look with some small'n'snazzy designer sunglasses, he looked like he was a cosplayer even though he wasn't.
Veronica smiled happily with her work and gave him a huge hug, kissing him gently on the lips. He kissed back and soon pulled back, "you look so beautiful." he complimented as he stared into her eyes.
She smiled, "and you look just as dashing."
"What say we take a stroll in the park?"
"What say we do."
They ith laughed and Scar offered his arm to her, she accepted and cliged onto him. They were the ultimate power couple and gained a few stares as they walked through the park at Lullaby Valley: no one dared cat call either of them, and this amused Scar slightly.
While they were walking, Veronica got reconise by a tourist. She was a bright green flying squirrel with blue goggles and she was holding a notepad and pen. The girl walked up to The Power Couple and got Veronica's attention.
"Excuse me, miss?"
"Hm?" Veronica turned around and spotted the girl. "May I help you?" she asked with a smile.
"Can I get your autograph? I've seen you on TV and you're my favorite role model!"
Scar chuckled and Veronica accepted the notepad and pen, "and who should I make this out to?"
"My name is Lucky Glider, just call me Lucky please."
Veronica scribbled onto the pad and handed the two items back, "here you go dear."
"Thank you so much, this truly means a lot!" and with that the girl climbed the nearest tree.
Veronica turned around, now noticing that Scar was chuckling slightly, "I didn't know you had fans."
She patted his arm in a fake hit, "oh come on, you have fans to."
He grabbed her hand and they resumed walking, a smile still plain on his face; "I've never gotten asked for an autograph, though."
Now Veronica was chuckling, "Is that really something you should be proud of?"
Scar stopped smiling, "dammit you're right.."
Veronica giggled, "sorry, sorry, I'm only playing with you!"
Scar's smile came back to his face and he stole a kiss off her cheek, "I know."
They eventually made it back to their house and went in, Veronica immediently took her gentle magenta heels off and set them by the door; Scar did the same but hesitated slightly.
She sat on the couch and crossed her legs, she grabbed a magazine from the table beside her; it was about fashion. Scar sat down by her and lay his head on her lap so he could still see the ceiling. Veronica smiled and put the magazine down, she looked into his eyes.
"Yes?" he asked her.
"Sorry, what are you doing?"
"I'm relaxing on our couch."
"No you're relaxing on me."
"Ok."
She sighed and glared at the wall for a moment before shifting her legs and grabbing a small pillow from beside her, she placed it under his head and ran her fingers through his soft, dark blue, fur.
He smiled, "that feels nice."
"You're welcome."
It was silent for a while as she kept playing with his thick fur, he closed his eyes and relaxed more. He felt sleepy and her gently massaging his head want helping. He eventually closed his eyes and succumbed to the gentle rocking of sleep.
Veronica noticed him drift off and smiled, she hummed gently as she watched him with a loving stare. She rubbed her eyes and yawned quietly, it was getting late by then and she felt very sleepy. He was warm on her lap and enjoyed the feeling so she turned the lamp off that was next to them and slowly stood up; moving his head so he wouldn't wake up and putting an extra pillow underneath him. She suck to their room and lay down in their large bed, she let sleep take over her body in waves of relaxation. Then she heard a sound coming from somewhere, she sat up and rubbed her eyes; sleepily waking up. She yawned and looked at the doorway to see Scar stumble into their room, she smiled and watched him flop onto his side of the bed and fall asleep immediently. She giggled to herself quietly and started running her finger through this hair.
She started humming a lullaby from her childhood, it was called "Wild Wolf Please", as gently as possible; not to disturb him. She hummed through the whole song while playing with his fuzzy fur, she started feeling sleepy as the song neared it's end. On the very last note she held it quietly and closed her eyes as gently as a butterfly. Relaxation, safety, and warmth all flowed over her body like a gentle ocean wave.
"That was the best day ever," she thought to herself as she finally slipped into a deep sleep.
