Sweets drove up to her home in her purple pickup truck and screamed loudly as soon as the garage door had closed behind her. It wasn't a murder scream, it was a scream of frustration. She had just gotten fired from the Candy Sto-rip for calling a child a "Cuckheaded sack of weightless dirt" for wanting to buy a white chocolate bar. She stomped out of her car and slammed the door behind her.
"I fuckin' hate everyone," she grumbled as she unlocked the door into her house. She closed that door behind her and locked it. She stormed upstairs and to her room to go job scouting online, she needed the money and wasn't afraid to admit it. She turned on her computer and sat at her desk angrily, she leaned back in the chair and looked out the window to her left. Her enemy, Disco Bear, lived right next door. She looked through his window that was about seventy feet away from her own, and spotted him dancing to some stupid-ass nineties song. He made eye contact and waved happily at her, she notice the healed scar in his neck.
Her glare stayed as she slowly flipped him off, she could see the hurt on his face as he closed his window and closed the curtains after. She smiled stupidly and giggled to herself before turning back to the computer and opening Toogle. She imediently opened her music playlist in another tab and went back to the first one to look up "Jobs in my area".
She smiled at the positive results, her old job already had it's applications out. She scrolled down and one caught her eye, a nightguard at Flippys. She curiously clicked on it and the official Flippys page came up. She looked around that page for a little bit before finding the job applications and requirements.
They would pay $16.50 per hour for a normal 12am to 6am job working the nightshift. Flippys was an old fast food restaurant with animatronics for entertainment, there was Flippy, Flaky, and Giggles, she recalled as she started filling out the application form. There was one other but she couldn't remember who it was. She finished the application and sent it out to them, she expected the results to be back by morning and it was almost 9 o'clock. She yawned and shut off her computer before cleaning up a little and starting her nightly routine of showering, changing into clean clothes, brushing her teeth, making her bed, then sleeping. She was starting to brush her teeth when she heard a knock at the front door, her instincts kicked in and she grabbed a butterfly knife on her way out of her room. Even though she was in her nightgown, she was still ready to defend herself from attackers. She opened the door and jabbed the knife at whoever was there before seeing Disco Bear in a frightened stance. He had his arms over his face to shield himself from the knife even though it wouldn't have touched him. She sighed, "What do'ya want?"
"I want you to turn down," he winked, snapped, and did the finger guns. "Ya music."
She stared in disbelief, "And I want you off my lawn," she did a neat trick with her butterfly knife and did the fingerguns. "Before I fuckin' stab ya."
Disco Bear retreated slightly, "Fine."
She nodded and watched him walk away before she closed her door and locked two out of three of the locks and made sure the metal bolt was locked and secure.
She went back upstairs and set the knife on her dresser again, she went over to her computer. It was off so she wondered why he would complain. She shrugged it off and started making her bed.
Once she finished she climbed in and snuggled down to get comfy. She reached over and turned off the lamp, she fell asleep quickly and didn't dream that night.
She woke up the next morning at exactly 5am but was still tired as always, she grabbed her phone and checked her email. She opened the email she got, it was about the job application. They wanted her on the job and she would start the next day, they wanted her to come in to get a tour of the place and get instructed on what to do in certain situations. She read the rest of it which was dumb filler in her opinion and agreed, she would come in in about an hour from now. She got out of bed and started her morning routine, having breakfast, brushing teeth, showering, and changing clothes. She only showered so much because of her long hair.
She got in her truck and drove into town and down to Flippys. After walking into the old place she analyzed everyone, placing their threat levels in her head. Then her eyes fell upon the animatronics, Flippy, Flaky, and Giggles. Flippy was a bear with green fur who wore old veteran clothes from the W.A.R. Flaky was a red porcupine who had some very dangerous looking spikes. Giggles was a bright pink chipmunk who had a bow on her head and a cupcake in her hand.
She scanned the room a little more and spotted something that made a chill run up her spine, Pirates Cove. She hated that place because of the memories that resided inside. There was a sign outside of it that said something about it being out of order, she only got a glimpse of the sign before someone brushed by her. She turned quickly in a defensive position as that was her reflex. The person was in a rush and ignored her. She growled quietly and walked up to the counter. The gentle looking sheep that was behind the counter looked up at her and greeted her happily with an all to loud "How can I help you?"
Sweets' eyes fell upon her in an accidental glare, "I'm the one who filed out the job application."
The purple looking sheep smiled and motioned for her to follow her after letting her behind the counter.
They walked down a hallway and the woman let her into a quiet room that had a desk, a chair, and a few papers. The name that was on the desk read "Cuddles", and she noted it in her head. The person who let her in left and soon after that, a yellow bunny walked into the room. He greeted her with a smile and sat down behind the desk.
They talked about the job for about thirty minutes and he gave her a tour of the place. He also showed her an office, he said it was hers to call her own and use during her job. After about an hour of all that mess, she was finally able to go home; an official Flippy Nightguard suit lay in the passenger seat as she drove home.
It was only around six o'clock and she was so tired. She shrugged, "It starts at 12am, so if I go to bed now I'll have enough energy for the six hours I'll need to be awake." She agreed with that logic and went to bed, being able to fall asleep immediently due to her tired state.
Her alarm clock went off and woke her with a start, she grumbled and smacked it so hard it flew into the open bathroom door and kept ringing. She looked up from her pillow in more then pure disgust, disbelief, and anger. She threw the covers off of her and stormed over to the bathroom to get the alarm clock. Upon picking it up, she saw the time, it said 10:03 on it and she grumbled as she remembered she had a job to do as of today. She stopped the alarm clock and tossed it on her bed before rushing downstairs and getting something to eat, a bowl of cereal. After her breakfast, she went upstairs to brush her teeth. Once she had finished her morning routine, she made her bed and went downstairs to the garage. It was pretty cold but she said "Fuck it" and left her jacket. She soon arrived at Flippys and went in. She was wearing the official long sleeved Nightguard shirt with the matching slacks. The hat she was supposed to wear was under her arm and she went in just before closing time at twelve, it was currently 11:58. She sighed in relief because she wasn't late for once. She went straight to "Cuddles'" office and checked in with him there. She had about one minute to relax before her shift started and she sat mat the desk and played around with the lights and doors to get used to the buttons. The green buttons were to temporarily turn on the hallway lights, and the red buttons were to activate the doors.
She heard a slam and a faint click from the lobby, her shift had started and she decided to relax in her seat.
Her ears lifted slightly as she heard some weird-ass sound coming from the main party room, next to the lobby. She grabbed the tablet she was given for camera's, the power was at 100% as she looked through the different cameras. Then she spotted it, the was a bright pink animatronics on her cameras, it had moved backstage and was looking as one of the heads with it's dull, lifeless, eyes. She felt it was looking sadly at the head but it just looked like a furry animatronic. This must've been a prank or something because how could it be moving without people to control it?
She stood up and grabbed the flashlight given to her, she had to check it out. She turned it on and left the safety of her office space.
Her short tail smacked a box as she walked down the hallway, it made an audible pomf and she froze as she watched the backstage door open and a pink head poked out and stared right through her. A chill ran down her spine as she and the creature stared at each other. There was a moment of silence before the animatronic screamed. It was a loud, electronic, screech which made her jump. She could swear she heard a child crying and saying something about not hurting them.
She wasted no time as she sprinted back into the office, she slid inside and she heard a loud thumping chasing her. She hit the door button and she watched as the door slammed closed just before the animatronic could reach her. She quickly turned on the light to see it pass the window and she heard it stop at the door. It knocked five times before she watched it walk away. In a way, it looked like it was slumping, or was sad about not being let in. This gave her an idea that she felt prepared to try. She opened the door after checking the camera's to make sure it wasn't still there and poked her head out, it was backstage again. She poked her head out and took a step out of the office, she took a breath and swallowed her pride. She let out a hell shriek and placed the light at the backstage area. The door opened once again and Giggles poked her animatronic head out at her, spotting her immediently. This time she watched as Giggles stepped out of the backstage room and stared off with her for a second.
Sweets swallowed again and sighed as she thought about how stupid this plan was.
"Do you want my help," she called down the hallway. Giggles' head turned sideways slightly and Sweets could see it was trying to comprehend what she was saying. She spoke clearer, "Do. You want. My. Help?" She asked slowly and watched as it opened it's animatronic jaw. It scream again and started running towards her. She ducked into the office and perposly left the door open, she hid under the desk and watched as the animatronic entered her office. She could only see it's legs but she heard the gears and sprinkle locks click as it turned and looked around the office, trying to spot her somehow. She swore to god it was a child crying but all that was there was an electronic scream.
She watched as the pink creature turned and walked out the left office door. She sighed in relief and got out from under the table. She quickly checked the camera's and saw Giggles was in the main party room while Flippy and Flaky were still on the main stage. She sighed in relief and looked at the time, it was only 1am. Time was going so slow from her point of view. She sighed quietly, not wanting to be caught by one of the animatronics. She checked the camera's once again, but this time clicked on one that she had been avoiding, the camera to Pirates Cove. She saw something that would never leave her mind, Russell was poking his head out of the curtain and seemed to be smiling at the camera; at her. She shivered and set the tablet down, she traded it for the flashlight that was on the desk. She closed the left door and check out the right hallway, it was empty. She opened the other door and checked out the right hallway again, she spotted a vent cover. She knew the kitchen was on the other side of that wall and she was small enough to fit into the vent. She used the butt of her flashlight and slid face first at the vent, breaking it instantly. She grabbed the vent face and could hear faint footsteps leaving the kitchen and getting closer down the hallway. She climbed into the vent just in time but the vent cover still wasn't protecting her. She reached for it and looked in horror as a large, red, for stomped on it. It left as soon as it came and she grabbed the cover and pulled it up onto the vent where she was hiding. It's a good thing the vent was practically on the ground or she would not have made it. She watched as Flaky entered the nearby office and look around the room. A loud scream pierced her ears and something grabbed her leg, she screamed just as loud as the creature that had grabbed her had. It stopped momentarily and she turned on her back, the vent was cold and she was being dragged to the kitchen. She lifted her flashlight and hit the creatures hand with the back of it repeatedly. It stopped and left her alone for a second. She climbed out of the vent and immediently smacked it in the chest, hard. It cried out and stumbled back slightly, she took the chance to book it out the door. She spotted the bathrooms and slid into the hallway that lead to them. She ran inside the girls bathroom and turned on the light that illuminated the whole bathroom. She sighed in relief and opened the second stall, she walked in and locked the door. She lifted her feat onto the toilet and waited. It felt like forever but she heard a loud thump near the bathroom door. She quickly turned off her flashlight as she heard whatever it was come in. She made her breaths more shallow and quietly stood on the pipes of the toilet to peek over the stall.
She spotted a tall creature moving in the darkness, all she could think was "Don't they know this is a girls bathroom?" the creature looked around the room and she could see it's glowing, blue, eyes. She inhales quietly in a silent gasp as she reconised those eyes. It was Flippy himself and he was out for blood.
She watched him lean down to check under the first stall and stand back up, she quickly banged on the opposite side of the stall she was in as a noise distraction.
It worked and Flippy started banging on the third stall door. She hopped over the wall of the stall and over the first stall, she landed quietly, being able to silence her landings, and sprinted towards the door. There was only a soft patter that wouldn't have been heard by a normal human. But these weren't normal humans, these were animatronic robots. She slammed the bathroom door behind her and sprinted over the tables in her way throughout the main lobby.
Then she heard it, the most relieving sound ever. The familiar ding as her shift ended at 6am. She sighed in relief and watched the animatronics go back to their places. Giggles left the kitchen, Flaky left the janitors closest, and Flippy left the bathroom. They all walked back on stage and stood in their places.
She looked around and realized what a mess she had made on the tables. She walked over to the three messy one and quickly fixed the table clothes on them, then she stood the party hats where they should be.
She walked to the back office and fixed the vent just in the hallway, then went inaismde the office and grabbed her keys. She walked past the Pirate Cove on her way out, she stopped next to it. The curtains were open slightly so she reached up and pulled them shut.
"Sleep well dear friend," she said quietly as the curtains slid gently to collide with each other at the middle of the small stage. The blue curtains with the stars and moons on it seemed to glow as she patted the wooden stage.
She started walking towards the main lobby but before she turned the corner she heard the all to familiar voice of the old pirate animatronic.
"And ye should live we-we-we-we-well."
She smiled at his response and was happy to see her old friend still had life. She remembered when she was little, her and her mother would always come here. She always loved Russell, he would sing his pirate chanteys to a crowd of one person. She would always sing with him, she and him were best friends because no other child wanted to play with her. One day, in front of the stage, a big mean boy came up to young Sweets and started making fun of her candied hair and yellow dress. He said dresses were for pussies and candy was disgusting. She was on the brink of tears when they both noticed Russell looking intently at the boy. He was leaned over to stare the boy in the face. When said boy looked up at Russell, he swung his hook and it impaled the boys throat. Sweets watched in horror but thankfulness as the bully dropped dead.
"Never let me see ye cry, it hurts me more then it hurts ye. Live on, live well, and never let people take what ye like away from ye."
People noticed the boys body and screamed as they watched Sweets and Russell hug, the blood dripped off his hook.
Sweets smiled at the memory and nodded before she finally turned the corner. She opened the door and her boss, Cuddles, walked in. He asked how her first day went and she told him she would be back tomorrow. He seemed surprised and confused but shook it off and walked deeper into the restaurant.
Sweets smiled and walked out to her car, tired, and ready for a good days rest.
