GETTING ALONG

I heard a knock on the door and opened my eyes. I saw it was already dark outside. Shit! How long did I sleep?! I hope Mrs. Grey will not punish me. Someone knocked again and I hurriedly went to the door. I took a deep breath before opening the door. I swung open the door to reveal an already smiling Ryan.

"Hey, sleeping beauty," he said.

I was relieved to see him, "Hey, Ry," I replied with a smile.

"Ry?" he questioned, smiling at me.

"I don't know," I shrugged, "It suits you," I added to cover it up.

"You can call me anything, sleeping beauty," he said.

"Stop calling me that!" I smacked his shoulder and he just stood there laughing.

"Anyways, dinner is ready. Mom is calling you downstairs" he said.

"Okay," I replied, "Uhm... Ryan, will I get punished for sleeping extra hours?" I asked nervously.

He raised an eyebrow at me and again laughed, "Are you crazy? Nobody gets punished in this house for anything, except Hunter," he told me, his smile fading when he took Hunter's name.

"Yeah, I guess he's the bad boy here."

"Yeah, kind of."

"Okay, let's go," Ryan shifted a bit to give me some space to walk out of my room.

"Sure" I nodded and walked out of the room. I heard Ryan closing the door and following me.

At the dinner table, I had to sit in between Ryan and Hunter. Hunter didn't even look at me once during dinner and Ryan didn't stop gawking at me. Dinner was okay. Everyone was laughing and talking. Rose told me that she kept some clothes and a mobile phone in my closet. I was surprised that I had a cell phone. I just nodded, didn't ask too many questions.

The beam of light through the curtains, right into my eyes woke me up from the best sleep I've had in months. I rolled in my bed to the other side and my smile quickly vanished as I saw the alarm clock.

"No, no, no!" I panicked.

I set an alarm for 6 in the morning. How the hell did I sleep through it?! It was already 11:45! I rushed out of the jungle of blanket and quickly ran towards the bathroom. I had a quick shower and changed into a maroon hoodie and blue denims. I brushed my hair once and put on my flip-flops. Looking back at the clock my heart sunk. It was already 12:10. I wish nobody's awake or else I'm going to be in big trouble. But my wish cannot accomplish because in a house full of so many people, there are so many chances that at least one face should be awake.

I sprinted out of the door and saw that Hunter's room door was closed. Maybe he's still asleep? Oh, why do I care? I pushed away those useless thoughts and ran downwards. The living room was empty. The kitchen was empty. There was no one in the house... or... everyone's still sleeping?

I went up to my room and saw Hunter's room door slightly opened. I walked towards the door and with a deep breath, I opened the door. The room was empty. There was no one there.

"What're you doing here?" someone said behind me. I know who it was.

I turned around and bumped into something very hard. "Ouch. What the hell, man?" I said rubbing my head. I looked up to an unamused Hunter Reid.

"Watch where you put your step," he seethed.

"You shouldn't have stood just behind me," I mumbled not bothering to look at him.

I suddenly felt small under his glare. He was glaring at me with his dark eyes. I think he heard me.

"Where is everyone?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

"Shopping. Now, move" he stated. Rude.

I moved from his way and started walking towards my room but I was stopped from Hunter speaking.

"Oh, by the way, the next time you decide to set an alarm, make sure you turn that shit off." I could feel the venom coming out from his words.

"You turned my alarm off?" I almost huffed out.

"Yes" he simply stated.

"Why would you do that?! Why wouldn't you wake me up?!" I argued.

"Because the damn thing is loud as fuck that I could hear it in my room, and if you didn't hear it that's your problem, not mine," he shouted.

"Son of a bitch" I cursed, silently that even I couldn't hear it properly.

I watched as his body stiffed and he turned towards me, his one brow rose. Don't say that he heard me. It's impossible! He started walking towards me and my breathing rose. Please, not again. He was close enough and I shut my eyes again. Nothing happened. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Hunter's face right in front of me. His eyes in front of my eyes, our nose practically touching. I was aware that I was caged in with my room's door behind me and Hunter's long arms beside me.

"You're a bad-bad girl, Kiera. You don't fail to surprise me," he whispered.

Why was he whispering? There's no one in the house, right? Oh, God, Kiera! At this point when Hunter is standing so close to you you're thinking nothing else but why's he whispering? I shook my head trying to clear those thoughts.

"Get back," I said confidently.

He again raised his eyebrow at me and smirked. What's so amusing?

"What if I don't?" he questioned.

I gulped, "Or else I'll kick you where the sun doesn't shine." I warned.

He chuckled and then stared at me with a stupid smirk on his face. "I'd love to see you try," he said still smirking.

"I'm not kidding, Hunter" I warned again.

"Oh, I never said you were kidding, baby." Now he was irritating me.

"I'm not your baby. Stop calling me that," I yelled, irritated.

"Make me." He challenged again.

"You love challenging people, don't you?" now I wasn't hesitating while talking to him.

"That's the first thing you got right about me, baby." He focused more on the word 'baby.'

"Hunter, this is the last time I'm saying, stop calling me that and back off or else I'll seriously kick you" I was serious. It's not like I was afraid of him. He's a douche-bag.

"This is the last time I'm saying, baby. Make me," he tried to copy my accent just to irritate me.

Okay, enough! "Fine, if that's what you want," I said and jolted my leg up but before I could do anything Hunter caught wrist and make me turn around so that now his back was pressed against mine and my face was pressed up against the door.

"You are a brave girl, Kiera" he whispered in my ear.

"Let go of me, Hunter" I tried to get my hand out of his grip but it was of no use. His grip was very tight.

"It'll be very nice to have you around" he brushed his lips on my cheek and my body shivered and stiffened. I was speechless. He let go of my hand, "Take care, Kiera" he once again whispered and I heard his footsteps. I quickly turned around and before I could say anything, his room's door was already shut.

What the hell is wrong with him? Why can't he just leave me alone? I guess it'll be very hard to get along with this guy.
