Chapter 24

A few days later, Inaaya boarded the bus with the other students of her French class. As she was looking out of window, someone came and sat next to her. She turned to find Ayaan shoving something in his bag. He smirked at her. She asked, "What are you doing here?"

He was confused, "Umm, I am also in your French class. Did you forget? Are you high or something?"

She shook, "No, I mean what you doing here in this seat? It is for Coco."

"I saw an empty seat and I sat here. If you want to sit anywhere else, you are welcome"

Uttering something, she stood up but Mr. Cooper scolded her, "Miss Nanda, please be in your seat. I don't have time for any of your problems"

Angrily, she sat back while Ayaan had a big grin. She noticed Charlotte take the last empty seat in front row. As the ride began, Ayaan said, "I wanted to talk to you about something"

She was watching the city pass by from the window. He spoke again, "Isn't this city beautiful?"

Pasting a fake smile on her face, she turned, "See, even if we are sitting together that doesn't mean that we should talk. I really don't want to talk to you about anything. I was in a really good mood, don't spoil it more"

He unlocked his phone to watch a movie. After some hours, he felt Inaaya's head on his shoulder. Her face was calm and beautiful. As he placed her hair at back of her ear, he felt the softness of her skin. Her hair glowed as sunlight fell on them. He felt heaviness in his chest as the night of the party flashed in his mind. Suddenly, a small jerk woke her and made him snap out. She noticed herself leaning against him. Immediately, she turned her attention back to window. He poked her arm asking, "Do you have something to eat? I am hungry"

She shook her head, "No, I don't have anything to eat"

"But there is a chocolate bar in your bag in the first pocket" he pointed to her bag. She raised her eyebrows, "How do you know that?"

He shrugged. She gasped, "You checked my bag?"

"I was hungry and you were asleep. I didn't want to wake you up" he replied. He had seen her buy chocolates that morning but he didn't want to come as a stalker which kept him from telling the truth. She took out the chocolate bar and gave it to him, "Why didn't you just take it then?"

He took a bite, "Because it will be wrong to take something of yours without your permission"

She rolled her eyes, "And it was okay to check my bag without my permission?"

He ran his hand through his hair, "People do drastic things when they are hungry"

"Va te faire foutre" she swore. He replied with a smile, "I don't know what that means but I guess it is something romantic"

She faked a smile before turning towards the window.

"I am telling you I would have pushed him out of the bus" Inaaya yelled as she was walking back and forth in her room. Charlotte was resting on the bed listening to her while playing a game on her phone. She replied, "Then you should have done that"

Inaaya stared at her best friend who passed a smile which made her laugh. Charlotte put her phone down saying, "Listen, tomorrow when the seminar will get over, we are going to the beach"

"We as in?" Inaaya asked jumping next to her. She replied, "All, we. Everyone. You okay? I will try to keep that jerk away from you, I promise"

Inaaya thought for moment, "Okay"
