Next day, Inaaya saw the empty seat next to Ayaan. As she was about to pass, Mr. Cooper asked her to take that seat. When she sat next to him, he said, "You said you love me. That night at the party when you were drunk, you confessed that. I thought that was what you wanted. Let me take you out, you have wanted that since you met me. You did all that new personality thing for me"
Her heart was racing. She got flashes of that night. Her palms were sweating as she had not told her feelings to anyone. Growing up, she had learnt to keep it all in but lately things have changed. What he was trying to do, she thought.
"People say lots of things that they don't mean. I loved you. Loved as in past tense. Because when I stood in that cafeteria with people laughing at me and you turned away, I realized what a complete fool I was to not see the obvious equation. Popular guy falling for a nerd and not-so-popular girl happens only in movies. I don't love you at moment. I hate you with every bit of cell in my body because you broke me. You should celebrate on that. You broke my heart and my trust. So, no I don't want to go out with you. You know you are so obsessed with yourself that you think that Earth revolves around you. I didn't do that for you to notice me because I already knew what you do to girls who get your attention. Also, you should know the meaning of those three words before you say them to anyone" she replied staring in his eyes. Stare in a person's eyes and he thinks you are telling the truth, Grandfather taught her.
Something melted inside him. He had never felt this before. He didn't need to ask her out, why he did that, he kept wondering. Many girls have confessed having a crush on him or being in love with him, but why was it different for her. Why had she messed his life so much? Turning his head to window, he wished for this trip to end. While he wanted to say many things to her, the words seemed to be lost. When he saw her again, she was reading a book with her glasses on. How he had never notice that she looked beautiful even if she didn't have makeup on, he wondered. Suddenly, he wished for this journey to never end. When she noticed him staring at her, he looked away.
"I can't believe you did that" Mr. Nanda yelled. Zara rolled her eyes as she was about to walk upstairs to her. He scolded, "Miss Zara Nanda, I am talking here. You can at least pretend to listen"
She walked to him saying, "I know what you are going to say. You should apologize to her and all that stuff. I am not going to do anything as such. You gave her my room, my share of love, everything. She deserves this."
"All this for a room?"
"You still don't get it, dad" she took a deep breath "Forget it I am going in my room. It is all in the past. Everyone in school likes her. So, my plan failed"
He roared, "You stay away from Inaaya. If you pull anything like that, you will be out of my house"
"Dad, I will stay away if she stops messing in my life. Why do you love her so much?"
"Why you don't?" Mr. Nanda asked. He was glad that his wife didn't get to talk to his parents who told him everything about what happened with Inaaya at school. He couldn't see any sign of regret in his daughter's eyes. She replied, "Your favorite daughter will return home soon. I think you should start celebrating again"
Saying this, she went into her room. Her phone rang, her friend on the other side informed her, "Zara, we need to do something. I have heard that Inaaya was all over AK on the trip. One of my friends saw him dancing with her"
Shutting her phone, she walked over to her room. Vanilla was downstairs with her father which made it easier for her to enter. She searched for a pair of scissors and took out all of Inaaya's clothes.
