"We. Can't", I forced out. "The doors won't open. There is no way down."
"Yeah, well I'll see about that", Ellie muttered.
"If you do get them open, let me go through. You stay here with Liam and find the chariot", I told them, wiping my nose on my sleeve and standing up. Ellie nodded and I followed her back to the elevator. Liam stayed behind.
"Here we go..." Ellie said, attatching one of her special arrows to the door. "Stand back! It's rigged to explode in ten seconds!"
We dove for cover and the door flew off. I jumped up and ran in, pressing the button for the lobby.
"You're like Hawkeye, you know that?" I told Ellie as the elevator started to descend.
"See you in two weeks!" she called back. I sat in the far corner of the lift, since there were no doors and no protection from the metal on the outside. The elevator dinged and I stood up, ready to use the Mist in case any mortals saw. There really was no need, they bustled about like they normally did.
"Um, excuse me, have you seen a Hispanic boy, about...this tall...and wearing suspenders and a tool belt?" I asked the clerk. She shook her head and I walked outside.
"Wait a minute....", I muttered to myself. There was a scrap of red cloth right outside the door. And another, about ten feet away. Some white scraps appeared too, bigger than the red ones. His shirt was white...and his suspenders--red...
I ran through ab alley way, following the trail. It stopped at a locked door.
"Right...now it would be helpful to be Beckett", I said, backing up. I charged at the door, slamming into it with my shoulder. I guess all of those years as a linebacker paid off, I thought as the door flew off it's hinges.
"Sara?"
