Braunick scanned through the book, finally reading the words inside of it after trying to learn to read for a week straight. He had finally mastered the art of literature and the ink on the pages were no longer meaningless scribbles to his mind. Now, they explained everything about the Gods to him.

The deranged king read through the pages, becoming more and more engulfed in the book. The cover of the book had big red words written on it that said The Current and Past Gods of Renya and More. It was written by an unknown author who, as he was told by the short "about the author" section in the back of the book, no longer reigned from this realm and had ascended to the Realm of the Gods. Braunick took it that he had died in one way or another.

Multiple times throughout the giant four-hundred-page book it mentioned that the author had managed to contact the Gods and meet them in person. The author had dedicated his entire life to them and had spent countless hours trying to summon them. He had dedicated so much to them that they even reached out to him to speak with him. The encounter was never documented in the book, the author kept it private. Braunick can only assume that something good came out of it, because a tutorial on how to summon them was the next chapter.

"Braunick!" The heavy metal doors slammed open so hard and quickly the king was surprised they didn't break off their hinges. The newly appointed human, Sarah, flew into the throne room with anger clearing covering her body in the form of bruises that were slightly noticeable due to her body being gray.

"A stupid dragon came and fought me!"

"A dragon?" Braunick asked. "Why didn't you kill it?"

"I tried," She groaned. "He was too strong,"

"How pathetic are you?" Braunick said in a tense tone, slowing shutting the book and placing it on the arm of his throne. He pushed himself up off the chair and took flight, hovering towards her menacingly.

"I'm not pathetic," Sarah snapped. "The dragon was just strong! And he caught me off guard!"

"So a wild dragon just came and decided to engage combat?"

Sarah hesitated before answering. "N-no?"

"What did you do to provoke it," Braunick growled.

"I was just testing my powers on this abandoned village,"

"Tell me everything," Braunick commanded and stopped hovering closer to her. By now they were only a few feet apart.

"I went to test my power and used an abandoned village to do it. Some Ar'gual came and asked if I was there for the gem and got confused and was gonna ask him about it when some dragon slammed into me out of nowhere with its passengers saying they were here for the gem and then we fought. The dragon beat me,"

Braunick stiffened, eye beginning to twitch. "The gem," he muttered, Sarah not hearing him. "That Ar'gual had the gem and was waiting for the Zena to come get it. Do you know what you have cost me?"

Sarah choked. "I—I didn't know-"

"What the hell do you mean you don't know!" Braunick shouted, letting all his anger out. He lashed at Sarah, grabbing her by the throat and slamming her down to the stone floor. A few small cracks emerged from the impact, Sarah sliding against the floor. "You are a pathetic excuse for a henchman! I need one more gem and you might have just lost it for me!"

Braunick lowered himself down to her as she still lay on the ground looking up at him with fearful eyes. His fist was engulfed in black flames as he raised it to bring it down upon her.

"Lord Braunick,"

The king looked over at the giant doors which still stood open from Sarah's entrance. A giant skeleton stood between them, something sling over his shoulder. "I got it,"

Braunick glanced at Sarah angrily before lowering his fist. The flames disappeared as he began walking over to Sir Paor. The skeleton grabbed what was on his shoulder and sat it on the floor of the throne room.

"I got what 'ya asked for," He told the king.

"You did me good," Braunick said to the skeleton. "Unlike some people," He shot a glare at Sarah, who was getting up from the ground and brushing off her clothing.

"This one's a smart one," Paor said. "He wanted to duel me to see if I got to take him with me or not. 'Course I won, but the fella put up a good fight. He managed to trick me a good few times but my strength was no match for his smarts,"

"Kill him!" Sarah shouted.

Braunick glanced back at her again, shooting another evil glare. "You aren't allowed to make decisions anymore," He told her. "I have a better idea for him,"
