The Destigems split into two groups. One to distract Malío, and the other to go into the portal and rescue Avalon.
The distraction group consisted of Sercon, Arenia, Wilom, Grari, Vrängr, and Ben. That group would work on making sure Malío stays on the island and does not go into the portal while the other group is to find the God of Good.
The group going into the Gods' Realm consisted of Thad, Agent 34, Ismara, Marque, Braunick, and Calvin. They would venture into the portal Braunick had created and look for Avalon and attempt a rescue mission so Malío could be led back into his home dimension.
"Distraction Group, head in first," Braunick commanded. "Lead him down the hallway to the right, close the door and distract him for a bit. You can lead him wherever after that, just not the portal room,"
"Got it," Sercon nodded, the group walking up the steps to the castle. "If we die, it's been an honor serving beside you guys," he said, flashing a smile to the group waiting outside.
"Get on with it," the king crossed his arms. "Just go die already,"
Sercon rolled his eyes as he walked up the steps, his squadrant following him. They yelled for the beast as they ran inside, causing as much commotion as they could. The group outside ducked down, watching as the giant black God whipped out from a room that was connected to the hallway and almost instantly began to chase them. The group dashed into a room on the right side, the demon following. They shut the door quickly behind it, locking them all in.
"Now," Thad called. "Go, go, go!"
The rescue group sprinted through the hall, their heavy footsteps pounding against the stone floor, all except Braunick's off course, since he was flying.
They reached the throne room, looking over the mystical portal before jumping in. One by one, the group went in.
Thad was the last one to go in, waiting until everyone else had gone in. Right as Braunick jumped in, he heard doors behind him opened up. He spotted Vrängr running as fast as he could, arms outstretched forwards, and a giant monster chasing after him. He was being chased by Malío, the elf screaming in terror as he went. The distraction group was running behind the God of Evil, trying desperately to keep him away from the portal room.
"Vrängr, get him out of here!" Thad shouted.
"I can't! He won't stay away from me!" The elf cried. "I'm so scared! He's gonna kill me-e!" Vrängr ran into the throne room, Malío following closely behind, trying to attack him with multiple swings of his fists.
The dwarf quickly jumped into the portal, letting the darkness swirl around him.
Malío spotted Thad jump in and let out another ear piercing screech. "My portal!" He yelled. The distraction group quickly tried to divert the beast's attention away from where Thad had gone, but it was no use. The God drifted his attention away from Vrängr and slowly began to approach his portal.
"Malío! Stay away from there!" Sercon ran over to the beasts leg and tugged at him, trying to pull him away, but it was no use. The beast was one hundred times stronger than what anyone in this world would ever be.
"My portal!" Malío shouted again. He quickly threw his fist at Sercon, sending the human flying back and hitting the castle wall with a thud. Cracks appeared on the stone around him upon impact as he slid down, landing on the ground hard.
Malío quickly jumped into the portal, following where he had spotted the dwarf go.
"No! We can't let him interfere with the rescue mission!" Sercon croaked.
"He's in! Close the portal!" Wilom shouted.
"We can't! Agent 34 and the rest of them are still inside!" Arenia cried. "We need to get them out and then close the portal!"
"So we get to rescue the rescuers?" Vrängr said with a fearful smile. "I get to be the hero of the story?"
"No, you stay here," Sercon said. "We can't risk you getting us in trouble again. Until you get your memories back, you are simply used for comical relief,"
"I don't know what that means," the elf replied. "and I think you mean I do get to be the hero," Vrängr quickly dived into the portal on the stone head-first, laughing as he went.
"For the God's sake—" The human said, pushing himself off the ground. "Everybody in,"
Everyone jumped into the portal after Malío.
