Their bodies landed in a crater of where the island once used to be. No pain was given to the Destigems, all of them surprised.
"How am I alive?" Marque asked, looking at his palms.
"I told you, I put an enchantment on the island so if you fall off, you'll live," Braunick said. He quickly flew over to where the battle was, which was beginning to die down. Barjual was calling to the Zena's men and calling it off, grabbing a few handfuls of them and quickly flying them off the field.
The king quickly threw his hand up into the air, a singular bone appearing in it. He twirled it around a bit before slamming it into the dirt, shaking the ground around them slightly. The skeletons on the battlefield turned to dust.
"Battles off," Braunick declared. "Veroms, I want you to get lost," The rest of his army, the veroms, all scattered away in random directions, knocking down a few of the Zena's men. "That goes for you, too. Get out of here, Zena," He was saying it to both the soldiers on the field and the Destigems themselves.
"What are we going to do?" Thad asked quickly.
"We?" The king asked, raising an eyebrow at him. "What makes you think we are a team right now? After years of war, what makes you think I'll just change my mind right this second and join you?"
"You aren't," Agent 34 answered. "But you do want your castle back right? And your island?"
"Of course I do,"
"And I mean, now that Malío is here, you don't have your title of King if Renya anymore..." The elf trailed off, walking away. "We could've helped you get that all back we if defeat Malío,"
"There is no defeating Malío," Braunick told him. "I've studied this stuff for months now. The Gods are invincible,"
"Then we won't beat him," his brother told him. "We will lure him back into his portal,"
"That's not the brightest idea either," the king explained. "No one knows what's in there. Only one man has ever ventured inside and has never returned,"
"You have to take a chance sometime in your life," Arenia told him.
"You guys are idiots," Braunick exclaimed. "No wonder you went to war with me,"
"Please," Thad said. "Help us. Even you should realize that Renya is in danger and there's no stopping that thing unless we get it back into its portal. It's stronger than you, Braunick. Help us,"
The king turned around slowly, his brow returning to normal size. The muscles in his face went to rest, Braunick quickly thinking of an answer. "One condition,"
"What is it?" Wilom asked.
"I get the last gem whenever he's back in his realm,"
Everyone turned to Agent 34, looking to him for an answer.
Agent 34 knew he didn't have the gem. He didn't really know if he had truly found it or not due to what Fáolar had said. The late man stated that it would appear in 34's time of need. The elf didn't know why it hadn't appeared yet.
Even though he didn't really have the gem yet, he said, "You can have the gem when we trap him back in his realm."

Braunick used the power of Black Magic to take the Destigems back up onto the island. Malío had retreated back into the castle to do who knows what. The group had discussed a plan for the past hour and a half with the help of Braunick's extensive knowledge of the Gods.
According to the book, there were two Gods that looked over Renya. Avalon, the God of Good, and the one that was currently in Renya as of now, Malío, the God of Evil. The two worked hand-in-hand, cancelling each other out and balancing the forces of good and evil. Whenever the two balanced out in the Gods' Realm, the forces of Good and Evil balances out in Renya itself. Avalon acted as the puppet master for the good side, Malío acting for the evil side. The two consistently fought inside of the Gods' Realm, trying to overcome the other. Apparently, whenever Braunick had conquered Renya, Avalon had been defeated by Malío in the Gods' Realm.
Gods cannot truly be "defeated", which meant Avalon was still somewhere inside the portal. He was either trapped somewhere, or Malío had done something to prevent him from winning anymore battles. If the Destigems went into the portal and saved Avalon, then maybe Avalon would be able to get Malío back into the portal.
