Ashton had come downstairs shortly after, seeing Crystal and I in the kitchen.
"Crys, hey."
"Hey." She spoke softly, watching Ashton. I didn't like how she looked at him. I mean she was only just looking at him, probably not even a certain way. Wait, what am I saying? She just got out of a relationship she's not gonna want to pursue something already right? And especially not with Ashton. She knows Ashton and I kind of have a thing. Yeah, I don't even know why I'm thinking about this, we aren't even official.
"So, you ready to go?" Ashton says and she nods.
"As ready as I'll ever be. It's gonna be a good time," She smiles brightly and then moves her eye contact around the room. She looks back at us again. "So where's Calum?" As if on cue, we hear footsteps coming down the stairs, and sadly enough not one set of footsteps, but two.
Oh god.
"He's... there..." I say, nodding toward the stairs. We all look over and Michael and Calum appear at the bottom of them. The moment Michael sees Crystal, his entire expression changes, and not to a good one. His face became drained, and he once again looked as bad as he did when they first broke up. I notice Calum shift uncomfortably when he sees Michael's face, but he moves toward us anyway.
"Hey, Crys. Ready for a good night then?" It takes her a moment but she nods slowly, getting up. She seemed surprised, yet unbothered at the same time which surprised me.
"Yeah," She laughs the awkward situation away. "Always." Calum smiles at her reassuringly and Crystal nods, walking to the door. Calum shoots us a nasty glare and I know now that we've fucked up. I look to Ashton and he bites his lip, an unsure shrug being sent my way. I sigh softly and Michael follows after Calum. We head out the door and quite honestly, I'm not even sure if I wanted to go out anymore.
* * *
We get to the bar finally and Crystal parks the car. The air around us was incredibly fucking awkward and I was getting tired of it. Yes, this situation sucked, but we might as well just move on from it and try to have a good time for tonight. I know it's easier said than done, but what's this silence going to solve, nothing.
"Here." Crystal finally speaks up. I nod and put a smile on my face.
"Alright guys, lets have a good night! Lets get the mood up, be happy. Drinks await!" I look over to Michael and notice him roll his eyes.
"Fuck it, yolo."
"You did not just say that." Calum laughs quietly and Michael smirks at him a bit.
"I did, and I stand by what I said," He shrugs. "So fuck it, lets do this." With that we get out of the car, walking to the doors.
"Everyone got their IDs on them?" We all nod and take out our fake IDs, all except Ashton, who was actually of age to drink here.
"Lucky you." I say and roll my eyes. He gives me a smug look and pushes the door open, us following behind. Crystal trails behind us, not seeming too stoked to be here. I felt bad, but at the same time I'm glad we didn't tell her about Michael coming. I think this'll be a good way to get them to move on from one another. I don't know how, but I can just feel it. The bar wreaks of cigarettes, liquor and sweat. Not a pleasant smell at all, but I wasn't worried about the smell, I just wanted some drinks.
This bar was pretty big and there happened to be three bar tables. We go to the most empty and sit up on the bar stools. Ashton sat to my left, Michael and Calum to my right. And to my surprise, Crystal sits on the outside beside Ashton. It's so small but it bothered me. I hate myself, nothing is even happening between them and I'm on guard.
