It all happened in frames, in slow motion.
Ashton had found me, laying unconscious in the grass.
I don't remember much. I kinda just remembering people yelling my name, I saw them but through squinted eyes. I don't remember who, but I do remember Ashton and only Ashton.
"Alice?"
"Allie!"
I heard his voice, thick with worry. I couldn't move, as much as I wanted to my body wouldn't let me. I felt completely weak, incoherent.
When I'd blacked out again, I found myself waking up next at the hospital.
I'm currently laying in a hospital bed, laying in one of those boring hospital gowns. I was hooked up to a machine, an IV in my arm.
What the fuck? Was I really that bad?
"Alice. You're awake." I hear Ashton speak. I look across the room and he sits in a chair. He brings his chair up closer to my bed. I didn't even think he'd stay with me.
"Hey..." I speak, still only slightly confused.
"How you feeling?" He shifts in his seat, getting comfortable.
"Fine," I sigh. "Dizzy. What happened?"
"I just found you laying in Michael's yard. You weren't responsive at all and your pulse was very low," He frowns, looking completely worried. "They had to flush the alcohol out of your system."
"Alcohol poisoning?"
"Yeah, pretty bad too." He bites his lip. "I've never seen that before, it scared me."
Suddenly the door pushes open, revealing Calum, my mum and the doctor. When my mum sees me she instantly rushes to me. She pulls me into a very unwanted hug.
The first thing I notice is the fact that Luke didn't come. He had to have known that I was sent to the hospital, he was at the party. And if he hadn't found out there, I'm sure Calum would've told him.
"God, Alice you have to be fucking careful! What were you thinking? So careless!" Her voice cracks, her tone fearful. "You could have died, Alice. Do you realize that!" She continues to scold. I sigh and hug her back, actually feeling bad towards her for once.
"Yes I know I'm sorry, mum." She sighs deeply and kisses my forehead. She then looks over to Ashton.
"Thank you, you sweet sweet boy," She goes over to Ashton and gives him a hug. "Thank you." Ashton smiles sympathetically, hugging back.
"It was no problem." I look over to Calum, who just keeps sending Ashton dirty looks. I look away and back at my mother.
"Did they say when I can leave?" She nods.
"Yes you can leave in a moment," The doctor speaks. "Just have to pull out your IV and have your mother sign off." I nod. I wince as the doctor slides the needle out of my vein.
"Stay very hydrated for the next few hours, and eat something so you don't feel as dizzy." I nod.
"Thank you," My mum says and signs off the paper that the doctor had brought in. She hands her the paper and pen back and takes the clothes from Calum that he was holding. I realize now that those were the clothes I wore to the party. "Put these on and we can get out of here." I nod and my mum doesn't catch it but I notice Calum looking over at my unbandaged arm. I try to hide it away as mum hands me the clothes. She leaves the room but Calum stays, eyeing Ashton.
"You wanna get out so she can change?" He sounded protective, threatening but Ashton didn't seem bothered. He shrugs.
"That's up to her." I look to Calum.
