I can't understand why Crystal thought what she did. The way she acted was way out of proportion and I can't think of any reason as to why she would act the way she did.

As I sit in Ashton's little black Jeep, only one explanation comes to my mind.

Sierra. Who else would spread lies about me? I mean most people do, but she's the only one who would actually target me. After everything that happened with Luke I don't see why she wouldn't, but to get Crystal against me was crossing a line.

"Are you okay?" I look over and notice Ashton staring at me. He had a sympathetic look on his face and I didn't like it. I don't like when people pity me, especially not Ash.

"Fine." I lie with ease, but I know Ashton detects my lies within seconds.

"I know you're lying." I slump in my seat as Ashton parks his car. I was in no rush to get out. I haven't seen my dad in God knows how long. I don't know how this is going to go. I know I missed him, but why was he here after all this time.

"I'm just... stressed." I take a deep breath and look over at him, only to find he's already looking back at me. "School's getting hard to deal with, considering all the rumors and shit Sierra keeps spreading about me. I just lost a friend, one of the only ones I have. And now, after all this time, my dad is finally over for dinner for a reason I don't even understand. For a reason I don't even know." Ashton frowns at me and I don't like it. I want him to smile, but it seems like every time he was around me he couldn't.

"I'm sorry, Alice. I really wish there was something I could do to help." I smile at him and put a hand on his.

"Ashton, you being with me is help enough." He smiles small, leaning across the car to give me a kiss and I don't reject it. I kiss him back and he cups my cheeks, rubbing his thumbs on them softly.

"Alice?" I look at him and smile a little bit.

"Yeah?"

"Please be my fucking girlfriend." My smile widens without me even realizing. Without even thinking I nod quickly, leaning in and pecking him on the lips.

"Of course I will, is that even a question?" He sighs dramatically and leans back in his seat.

"Wow, I must be dreaming. I just got the girl of my dreams." I roll my eyes and punch him in the arm playfully.

"Oh shut up and get out of the car." He sends me a cheesy smile and gets out, slamming the door as he does. I get out too and wait for him to get beside me, a bit nervous to go inside alone.

"You alright?" I nod as he grabs my hand. I get to the front door and walk in, knowing it's unlocked anyways. As we walk inside, I hear loud conversation in the dining room. This was different from how it usually was in the house, it's usually quiet and dead. We walk in further and I hear laughter, becoming curious about what was causing it.

"And it's crazy really, how many people come in for heart surgery, any kind of surgery really." I hear familiar laughter in the dining room, and I can't believe it. It's actually my father. I see my mum, enjoying a glass of wine and staring at my dad as if he was a piece of meat. I roll my eyes at her.

"You know, he's married." Everyone's attention moves to me but my father's. My mum rolls her eyes at me. Dad notices I'm in the room finally and looks over. He doesn't even say anything about Ashton, he just looks at me in awe.

"Oh wow, you're my daughter?" I nod, laughing a little at that.

"Yeah." He moves over to me and immediately wraps his arms around me in a tight hug. It takes me a moment but I do the same back to him. This didn't feel real.
