2.7 "I Tried"

At home. A few weeks later. 

I stormed into the house pissed off "Dad!"

Dad "Elena"

Me "I'm not even gone for a week and i get to hear that Sam tried to kill you, that Dean played Death for a day and that Sam's got his soul back?"

Dean and Cas walked to us. 

Dad "who told you that?"

I pointed at Cas "he did. Because he's the only one that's keeping me updated around here"

Dad"well, no one would have to update you if you were here! where the hell were you even? That Wendigo in Tacoma was an easy case"

Me  "Doesn't matter. Where's Sam?"

Dean "Downstairs.Still passed out"

I sighed "i need a drink"

I walked to Dad's study and sat down on the chair in front of his desk. Dad sat down in his chair and Dean in the chair next to me. 

Dad poured us all a drink " Like my daddy always said, just 'cause it kills your liver don't mean it ain't medicine. He'll wake up. "

Dean " Yeah."

Dad "Dean, he's been through how much? Somehow, he always bounces back. "

Dean " He's never been through this."

I looked at a newspaper dad was looking at "Job?"

Dad nodded " Might be."

He passed over the printout.

I read it "The Portland Chronicle .SMALL PLANE CRASH KILLS TWO."

Then i looked at Dad " what's the short story?"

Dad "Couple goes up in a light plane. Wreckage was just found in the woods. "

Dean"Couple of Buddy Hollys? Doesn't really seem like News of the Weird. "

Dad " Pilot was found seventeen miles away, flambéed. Girl's just gone. No body, no nothing. "

Dean nodded " Okay, I'm not changing the channel. "

Suddenly we heard a voice behind us " Dean. "

Dean set his glass down hard. 

Sam walked inside and we turned to him. 

Dean stood up " Sam? "

Sam hugged Dean. 

Dad and i stood up. 

I hugged Sam. 

Sam "Lena"

Then he hugged my dad "Wait. I saw you-I-I felt Lucifer snap your neck. "
