Chapter 27:
Uriah's Perspective
I turn around to see why Natalie stopped, and she's staring at this boy. Typical twelve year old girls. "Come on, lets go!" I say tugging her hand.
The boy has multiple bruises on his face, a nosebleed, and a black eye. I try to pull her, but she remains in the same spot. I pull harder, but it feels like trying to pull a concrete block. I am getting kind of aggravated because we're gonna miss the train if we don't leave now.
The boy looks angry at her, and she looks petrified. I tug her one last time, but her arm slips from my grasp. She mumbles something, and I pucker my eye brows. "What?" I say.
"HE RAPED ME!!!" she screams, and then throws a punch at his face. He stumbles backward. Raped her? Oh, Four is gonna be so mad. Wait, did he? Ohhhh noooo.........
He comes at her, and she kicks him in the stomach. He falls to the ground, and she kicks him in the face. Blood spills from his mouth, and she continues to kick him. She is yelling, and I am pulling her away. She grunts in frustration, and I hold her around my back.
Once we're at the tracks, I put her down. I see blood on her shoes. "He raped you?" I say. She bites her lip and nods.
"Does Four and Tris know about it?" I say. She shakes her head, and starts to cry. I take her in my arms, and she cries on my shoulder. "When?" I say. "After Mom was brought to the hospital when she drowned." she says through sobs. That boy raped her?
I find that hard to believe considering she could have burned him right then and there. "Did he....like.....you know?" I say. She sniffs. "No, I don't think so." she says.
I set her down because we have to run. She runs by my side, and I jump in the car first, and she follows. I land on my side, and groan. Natalie lands on her back. She moans and sits up. "He was in my nightmare." she says. She hugs her knees to her chest and stares at the floor.
"If I had known that, I would have helped you beat him up." I say. My body tenses with anger, but not as much as Four when he hears about this.
Tris would probably be really mad too, but Dads are very overprotective of their daughters for some reason. If this had happened to Mariah, I'd kill that kid. But I think Four would want to kill the kid. Natalie is like a daughter to me, and I'd do anything for her.
I scoot over to her and put my arm around her shoulder. She is too young for that. She leans into me, and cries. "I woke up in his room, and he started to like, hit on me. Then he started to try and kiss me. He didn't though. I tried to get out, but the door was locked from the outside. I beat him up, and melted the door off and left." she mumbles into my shirt. I nod as if I understand, but I don't. I can't say I went through the same thing when I was her age.
"I'm sorry." I say. She nods. She sits up and wipes her cheeks. She looks out the opening of the train car. "We need to jump." she says. I stand up, and she does too. She jumps off first, and I watch her hair fly behind her in the wind. I jump out after her, and land on my feet.
I stumble forward, and run over to her. She wipes gravel off of her, and walks over to the ledge. "Lets go!" she says. She lifts herself up, and stands up. She looks down and jumps. I run over, and catch a glimpse of her falling. I hear the net creak under her weight. She yells, "Come on!" and I stand up. I see her beckoning for me to come, and I jump.
I yell out, and the net wraps me in an uncomfortable embrace. I bounce up, and land back on my front. She helps me over, and my shoes make a loud snap when I land on my feet. She starts to run off, and I follow her. "You are gonna tell Four and Tris, right?" I say. She doesn't say anything. She turns a corner and runs past the chasm. The railing squeaks as we run on it.
"Are you?" I say again. She stops and turns to me. "And how am I going to tell them? Oh, hey when you guys were in the hospital this boy raped me, but I beat him up. It's okay." she says. She smirks. "It's not as easy as it seems." she says, and turns back around. I follow her down the hall.
"I know, but they need to know what happened." I say. I follow her up the stairs. "I know that, just give me some time, I'll figure it out." she says. "If you don't tell them soon, I'll tell them." I say. I am tired from running up the stairs, and run towards the apartment door. She stops at it, and I stand behind her. She fiddles with the lock, and opens the door. I walk in behind her. It smells like mint and dust. The dust, clearly from no one being here in awhile. (Or Tris' poor dusting job) I snicker to myself.
When Four first got this apartment, it was much smaller. He remodeled it when Natalie was five. It's huge now. I follow her to her room, and look around in it. She turns to look at me, and puckers her eye brows. "What?" I say.
"Um, I can't let you see where I'm hiding three hundred dollars!" she retorts. I stare blankly at her, and just turn around. I walk into the kitchen and open the fridge. "OH MY GOSH, SHE HAS DAUNTLESS CAKE!" I yell out, but don't mean to. I grab the plate and set it on the counter.
I yank open a drawer, and grab an oversized fork. I stab the cake, and take a HUGE fork full and stuff it in my mouth.
"MAVALIE, FUHRRY HUP!" I yell. "What!?" she yells. "I SHED, HURVVY FUP!" I yell. I have to much cake in my mouth for her to understand me. A few chunks of cake fall from my mouth, and I swallow what's left. I take another fork full, and stuff it in my mouth.
"MHHMMMMM!!!! DISH SHAKE ISH SHO GOSHD!!!!" I yell. "Uncle Ur-" Natalie says as she walks out from her room. I stare at her like a deer in head lights. "Why are you eating my cake?" she says, with a wad of cash in her hands. Pieces of cake fall from my mouth in huge chunks.
"BUHHHHH....." I say. I swallow the rest, and she stares at me. "I was very hungry." I say, wiping my face with a napkin. "There was other food." she says, crossing her arms. "Gimme a break! I just lied to your Mom, at least let me eat a little bit of cake!" I say. She scoffs.
"A little bit? One half was stuffed in your face, the other half is on the floor." she retorts. She raises one eye brow. "Never mind, I'm gonna go get some clothes, and Mom's toothbrush and toothpaste." she says, and walks off into another room. I put my head around the corner to make sure she's not there.
Good, she's gone. I run back behind the counter, and stuff my face with cake. I moan a little bit, but keep it low so she can't hear me. I hear her walking out and run over to the sink and spit it all out. I hurry up and try to wipe my face. "I'm ready, let's go." she says as she walks behind the counter.
"Oh, missed a spot." she says, and takes a napkin. She dabs it over my mouth, and shows me the napkin. Cake. She looks over at the plate, which is now cleared, and sighs. She puts the dish in the sink, and hands me a broom. "What am I supposed to do with-" I say but she holds her finger up, and points at the floor. I look down, and see a whole bunch of cake.
I sigh, and sweep it up.I sweep it into a pan, and empty it in the trash. I set the broom down, and walk towards the door. She has a black leather bag in her hands, and follows me out the door.
"Natalie....." says the boy. I look wildly around and see him walking to her. She drops the bag.
I know, I ended it with Liam again. I was running out of ideas so I just decided on that. I dedicated this chapter to EnigmaticWriter_507 because she guessed right on who Natalie saw! Go read her stories, they are AMAZING!!! I haven't updated in awhile because I have strep throat. I will try and get the next chapter ASAP! Don't forget to vote and comment! :)
