"No, no... no! NO!" Karn yelled as two security guys had to come and force him out of the room. His eyes were glued on Amarin who was lying on the bed, motionless. He's only sleeping, what are the doctors doing to him? What are all those medical tools for?!

He tried to fight them but wasn't strong enough. When did this happen? He left only for a short while. He said he will come back. He said he will see him in a bit. They haven't even said goodbye. Amarin said he's not going anywhere.

Why was this happening?

Karn finally fainted after all the pressure, stress and released emotions.

His eyes opened widely when he came to himself. He couldn't remember what happened or where he was. Karn looked around to room, not recognizing it.

"You're up." May entered the room with injection in her hands.

"What happened?" He asked, still confused.

"You've gone berserk and then fainted. Doctors drugged you with sedatives so you won't freak out when you wake up. I've come to give you another dose, but it won't be necessary." She concluded and put the injection aside.

"Amarin... Amarin?!" Karn remembered, jumping out of the bed.

"I was wrong." She sighed and put both of her hands on Karn's shoulders. "You need to calm down if you don't want to lose it again. Sedatives aren't as harmless as they seem." She avoided the question.

Karn swallowed and felt how dry is his throat. He's started to remember events before his collapsing.

"Is he... is he...?" still alive? He couldn't finish the sentence.

"He's in coma. The doctor will explain you the details." May said. Karn felt tears dripping down his cheeks when he heard it. He hasn't lost him yet. He's still here. The nurse came closer and gave him a hug he gladly accepted.

"You have to stay strong now. It will be the best if you call your friends or parents and talk to them. If someone can come, invite them over. Here are your belongings." She handed him a bag with his clothes and stuff. He didn't even notice he had hospital clothes on.

"I want to see him." He demanded weakly.

"Not now, darling. Not yet." She said softly and closed the door behind her.

She couldn't tell him the whole truth. May really felt like a mother watching over her children. She's never attached herself to patient before, but the pain she was experiencing was greater than ever. A tear escaped her eye thinking about what will happen when Karn finds out. As she saw the doctor walking down the hall towards her, her stomach tightened.

"Don't tell him yet. Please." May plead as she approached the doctor.

"This is a standard routine and we also need his signature and final decision. We're practically wasting his money if he says no." He said, showing her a folder of documents.

"Don't be like this, M. We both know he won't say no. He's just woken up, give him at least an hour." The doctor sighed, already giving up to his wife.

"You're unbelievable, May. What should I do with you? I've already prepared myself mentally for the speech."

"I'll treat you lunch, come on." She dragged him away. M eventually gave up and wrapped one of his arms around her waist as they walked to the hospital cafeteria.

"Hello?" Karn heard Sujin's voice through the phone and his chest loosened. Familiar voice had a calming effect on him.

"It's me." He breathed out, worrying what reaction he will receive.

"Hey... do you want me to come over?" No questions regarding to Amarin.

"Not now, but I might welcome it later. He's in coma." Karn said it while he was still able to talk.

"We're here for you. It doesn't matter when you call, even at 3am, I'm going to come over. Okay? You're not alone."

The words warmed Karn's soul and made him uneasy at the same time. So many people were comforting and supporting him, including Amarin. Has he even once supported him once? Has he done at least half of the things Amarin deserved and needed?

"I don't know if I can handle all of this." He confessed, referring to guilt and regret which was eating him from the inside.

"I called your mom and explained everything. She asked me to tell you that you can pay all hospital expenses from their bank account. They're planning to come over as soon as it will be possible." Sujin mentioned. Karn wasn't even surprised that she had his mother's number.

"Thank you so much. You've taken a great burden from my shoulders by speaking to her." He was really glad he doesn't have to explain everything again.

"Sujin? I'll call you later again, I have to talk to the doctor now." He excused himself when the door handle moved.

"Okay, take care. Stay strong, we're all with you." She said quickly before hanging up.

"Mr. Prachaya?" A doctor he hadn't met before entered the room.

"Yes, that's me." Karn stood up and fixed his clothes and hair out of nervousness.

"How is it? Have you decided?" He asked, holding a pile of files in his hand.

"I'm not sure what are you talking about."

"The life support. What is your final decision? I need get your signature regarding regarding your choice." Karn had to sit down again.

"What... I still don't understand. Life support? He... He's just in coma." His body started to shake uncontrollably.

"Mr. Perawat has been declared brain dead."
