NEXT DAY

I pulled off my clothes, standing in my underwear and bra. Tobias was sprawled across the bed, but glanced up to see me stripping. "You're so beautiful," he muttered, sitting up.

"I'm still mad at you. You let Zeke throw me in the snow," I sneered, rolling my eyes.

"That's totally unfair," he said standing and walking over to me.

"I'm seriously not in the mood," I said, crossing my arms.

"I know how I can make it up to you," he mumbled into my hair as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Oh yeah, hows that?" I said, turning around in his strong arms.

"This," he said before pressing his lips to mine.

My hands pulled his shirt over his head and he smiled against my lips. "How about a warm shower," he breathed out as we broke apart.

" I like the sound of that," I replied, sliding my hand into his pants, making him groan.

We walked to the shower and I unbuttoned his pants. He slid them off and ran his hands to my butt. He reached for my bra and unclasped it. I turned the handle on my shower and the water fall of rain began, warming up quickly. Before stepping in, he slip off his own underwear and I did the same. He pulled me in with him and lifted me up so I was on his waist and kissed me. He pushed me up against the tiled wall before moving into me. I moaned out and grabbed his hair in my hands. I swear, life couldn't be any more perfect.

---------------------

Tobias went home earlier. I was sitting at the kitchen table, eating some avocado toast. My dogs begging beneath me. I gave in and tossed them each a small piece. I heard footsteps and I turned around. Zeke walked in and gave me a short greeting. "You going to moms acceptance speech of her award tonight?" Zeke asked, looking at me expectantly.

"Seriously? Of course I'm not," I replied coldly.

"tris, I know you guys haven't been on the best of terms, but shes the only mom you have. You should be there for her-"

"Like she was there for me?" I snapped back.

"Tris, that was different. She couldn't-"

"Yeah, it was totally different. I was dying. She's just winning another award and getting more money than she already has," I growled.

"Tris, it's childish to hold a grudge," He scolded, pouring a glass of orange juice.

"You know whats even more childish? Making your children grow up without a mother. Treating me like a menace in her life. Letting the father of her children die," I snapped.

"Tris, you know dads death wasn't moms fault," Zeke said, raising his voice.

"I really don't want to get into this with you," I snapped.

"You don't get to do that. You don't get to shut down after bringing up dad," he snapped back.

"You defend her, even though all shes done is ignore us and place her work before us. Nothing I do seems to please her, do you know how that feels?" I yelled at him.

"God Tris, you never take responsibility for anything you do. It's always someone else's fault!" He shouted, his booming voice filled with annoyance.

"You know what, you're right. I'm the reason I was nearly killed. I'm fucked up, I know. I know I'm not enough. I can't do this with you. I don't need these problems ," I exclaimed, tears filling my eyes.

"I didn't start these problems tris, you did. You start things and then blame it on other people," Zeke exploded.

My heart snapped in my chest and a tear slipped from my eyes. "Just stop," I mumbled.

"What? Say what I've been thinking? You've been selfish. You almost killed yourself. Do you know how I felt? How scared I was? How terrified I was to lose you? You don't think about how your actions affect others."

I felt my stomach feel odd and vomit rise in my throat. My heart was pounding hard and my eyes were wet. "I'm going to Christina's, I'll see you later," I said, turning and grabbing my purse, tears spilling out.

"Tris- wait- I didn't-" he grabbed my wrist.

"Fuck You zeke," I sneered, yanking it away.

"Tris, I didn't-"

"Just fuck off!" I shouted, walking to the door.

I cried, opening the front door and slamming it shut.

------------

I laid back on my hotel rooms bed. It'd been about 3 days since Zeke and I's huge fight. The only person I have talked to is Christina and Tobias. I needed some time to myself, away from everyone. To get a break. My phone buzzed and I reached over, picking it up.
Hey Tris, party at my house tonight for the New Year! Plzzzzz come❤️
Shauna. Great. That means Zeke will be there. I sat there, staring at the ceiling. Then i has an idea. I'm going to piss Zeke off so fucking bad tonight. He doesn't own my life and doesn't get to tell me how to live it. I picked up my phone.
Hey baby, pick me up for the party tonight? Also can you pick up my makeup bag and black studded dress? Love you 😘
I waited for a response, which came pretty quickly.
Of course baby. I didn't know if we were going or not. I'll bring it to the hotel in an hour.
I threw my phone on the bed and sighed.
———-

A knock pounded at the door and I walked over and opened it. Tobias presses his lips to mine immediately and I smiled against him. He pulled back after a moment and slipped a lulu lemon bag full of my stuff in my hand. "I missed you," he mumbled.

"How about a shower, darling?" I mumbled as he leaned down to kiss my cheek.

He slipped his hands to the rim of my shirt and pulled at it, answering me silently.
