I heard talking and I released a groan of pain. I opened my eyes weakly and they slowly adjusted. "Ezi..." I groaned.
I had a bandage now wrapped around my head, which was pounding from pain. My eyes shifted beside me and shock hit me when I saw Tobias face, which held a heavily worried look.
"Four?" I groaned out.
"Hi love."
"I love you," he said gently, stroking my hair.
"She hasn't had the best reaction to being touched," Ezi said gently to Four.
But His hand felt comfortable, recognizable. I nodded at him, reassuring him. "I'm-I-I'm so sorry...." I cried.
"This is not your fault baby. Don't you ever apologize."
"You're the last person who should be apologizing," Ezi said, on his feet pacing.
"I couldn't - I just- I tried to stop him," I cried.
"I know. I know ri," Ezi said, his voice quivering with tears.
Tobias gently took my hand in his. We talked for a few minutes before a loud knock at the door interrupted us, making me jump in fear.
"Shhhhhh," Tobias cooed.
Zeke walked to the door and opened it. "What are you guys doing here?" His voice asked, sounding a bit protective.
"We heard about tris, we just wanted to stop by and let her know we're here for her," I heard a voice explain.
I peered past Ezi and was able to make out a few boys from the football team. "Guys, um- we appreciate you coming. But I think it'd be better if you came back another time-"
"Ezi it's okay," I said, my voice squeaking a bit.
"Tris, it's okay if you don't want them to come in now. We can tell them to come back another time," Uri said
"I'm fine," I said gently.
"Okay, come in guys. Keep the noise down though," Ezi said, opening the door.
"Hey ri," Eddie said, coming in.
"Tris- uh- hey," jake said, looked shocked at my appearance.
I don't blame him, I looked awful. My lip was split. My face was bruised to hell. I had a cut across my face. My arm was broken and my body was battered.
The rest of the boys greeted me with wary smiles, balloons and stuffed animals in their hands. "Hey guys," I said, forcing a smile.
"I gotta say, you've looked better," Josh teased.
"Are you kidding, she's gorgeous all the time," Tobias answered.
"How are you doing?" Eddie asked, his smile fading a bit.
I clenched the blanket in my hand and nervously glanced over at my brothers. "I - I'm okay," I said, tucking a hair behind my ear.
"Good to hear," jake said, giving a warm smile.
An uncomfortable silence filled the room. They all knew. But didn't know how to address it. "We just wanted to- uh- make sure you're okay," Eddie said.
"Yeah, you know, with what happened," Isaiah said, scratching the back of his neck.
"She's okay. She went through hell, but she's feeling better," Ezi said.
"You can say it, you know," I muttered, tears coming to my eyes.
The room was blanketed with silence and I felt the cold tension seize everyone. "Tris-" Uriah tried.
"You can't keep tip toeing around me. I was raped. Im not broken," I snapped.
"You know what- I think it's time everyone leaves," Ezi said, looking concerned.
Zeke opened the door and boys began filing out. Anger chewed me up and I swung my legs to the side of the bed, despite the ripping pain tearing up my body. I groaned and reached over, unattaching my blood pressure cuff, the IV, and any other tubes that were connected to me. Tobias butted in, "What are you doing? Tris stop-"
"I need to leave. I'm leaving," I said, tears coming down my face.
"Tris, you can't leave. You need to heal," Zeke said, walking over to me.
"I just- I can't- I have to go now. Get me out of here now," I cried, panicking.
I pushed myself up from the bed and when my feet hit the ground I crumpled, the pain chewing me up. I cried out, falling. Hands reached out, grabbing me. "Don't touch me!" I screamed, flailing.
"Tris, let me help," Uriah said, bending down beside me.
"NO! DONT TOUCH ME! DONT TOUCH ME! STOP!" I screeched, crumpling up.
"Get me out of here! Now! Please! I need to get out," I cried, trying to stand.
"Tris- just let me-"
"No- please just leave me alone," I sobbed.
The door opened and I saw the familiar doctors appear. "NO! GET ME OUT OF HERE!" I cried.
They grabbed me and I kicked and punched, doing anything I could to break free. "DONT TOUCH ME! NO PLEASE DONT HURT ME! PLEASE!"
"Tris, they're trying to help-"
I cut off Ezi with a scream, "PLEASE DONT HURT ME LIKE HE DID! DONT TOUCH ME! Let me go!"
I flailed, landing a few good punches. They pushed me down against the bed. "We need some extra hands while I get the medicine," the doctor shouted over my hysterical sobbing and screaming.
"PLEASE! ZEKE PLEASE HELP! DONT LET THEM DO THIS TO ME!"
I watched his face flicked to pain and tears pushed at his eyes. My brothers and Fours hands now grabbed at me. "NO! NO!!!!!!" I kicked hard, nailing Four in the side hard.
"YOU CANT DO THIS TO ME! YOU CANT!"
"Pin her arm down. Pushing 10 of haldol," the doctor shouted.
"NO PLEASE! URI, EZI, DONT LET THEM HURT ME," I wailed.
"It's gonna be okay baby girl. I'm here," Ezi cooed.
I felt warmth spread through me and my vision went fuzzy. I felt a wave of exhaustion hit me and my flailing let up, the tiredness hitting me. My body became numb, and my eyes felt heavy. The last thing I saw was Ezi, who was stroking my hair gently.
