Chapter 18

The classes went by fast that day and before we knew it, we were hanging in the boys locker room, talking about the game and the party tonight. "Tris, how do ya feel about your first game back?" Eddie asked.

"Im excited. But honestly a bit nervous," I said quietly.

"Why are you nervous? You're like the best player on the team," Jake said.

"Thanks but that title belongs to Four," I said shaking my head and catches the small football that Eddie threw to me.

Four smiled at me. "Well at least you're the hottest," Jeff said with a laugh.

I rolled my eyes. "Don't talk about her like that," Zeke said with annoyed glance.

All the boys laughed. Whenever I was around them, it felt like I was one of them. Not like I was the only girl. They were so cool with me, it made me feel like one of the guys. "Hey, maybe some of us will get lucky tonight at the Pedrads party. That's always the best place to meet girls," Andrew said raising his eyebrow.

"I second that, they have so many rooms," josh said.

"Which you shouldn't be having sex in," I said, shuddering at the thought of that.

"Yeah man, what the hell," Uriah said fake vomiting.

Everyone glanced at Zeke, looking for a reaction. He just shrugged. "Hey, I get lucky with Shauna all the time at the parties," Zeke said with a smile.

All the boys laughed and I covered my face with my hands. "Gonna be honest, I have to," Uriah said shrugging.

"I guess the only Pedrad that hasn't is Tris," Jacob said.

"Who said I haven't?" I said, furrowing my brows.

Zeke s has fell open and the room went quiet. "What did you just say?" He snapped.

"I'm kidding! I'm kidding zeke!" I said quickly, his eyes holding a glaze of fury.

Everyone busted out laughing except for Zeke. "That is not funny Tris."

"Are you sure you're only kidding tris," jake said with a wink.

"Yeah cause I'm willing to help you out with that if you haven't," Eddie teased.

"If any of you touch her, I'll rip your heads off," Zeke growled.

"They're joking Ezekiel," I said rolling my eyes.

Four, our captain, spoke up. "Okay guys, 1 hour until game time. Let's get our gear on and warm up on the field,"he said.

I threw on my gear in the boys bathroom before walking back to the boys who wear all changing in there underwear. My eyes found Four and I couldn't peel them away. His six pack was revealed and he was in only his underwear. "Looking good boys," I said with a laugh.

I guess the reason I wasn't in the girls locker room is because I'm scared. I'm scared it's gonna cause all the fear to flood back that I've pushed back. Or that it'll make me remember that night, make me face what happened. I hadn't spoke of that night since the hospital, And when anyone brings it up, I immediately shoot it down. I was scared, but I know I have to face it.

Once all the boys were changed. We walked out to the fields together. The stands were starting to fill. We all set our helmets aside and did a few stretches and warm ups. Then we did a few drills and practices our respective positions. After a little while of that, we went back to the locker room and sat on the benches for our pregame talk from Amar.
