Tobias was getting out of the hospital today. Christmas was only a few days away. I had only got a few messages. It wasn't too awful but it was always bugging me. I wasn't my normal self. I tried, I tried really hard. I walked to Tobias' room with Zeke and Uriah. We entered his room, Tobias' face lightening up. "Ready to go?" I asked with a small smile.
He was already in a wheelchair, despite his protests. I Leaned down and laid a kiss against his soft lips. "Very," he replied.
"Ew-" Uriah wailed but I cut him off with a glare.
We signed some papers and pushed him down to the car, helping him get all his things into it as well. Once he was situated, we climbed into the car. I took the back seat beside him, resting my hand in his on his lap. I felt my phone buzz and I pulled it out. 'Looks like lover boy made it. Watch your back tris, you're next.'
I crammed my phone back into my pocket. "Woah- who was it?" Tobias asked, his eyebrows knitted.
"Nothing- I mean no one." I stuttered.
"Tris-"
"Honestly Tobias. It's nothing," I muttered.
"Babe- you can tell me if something's going on. I'm here for you," he said.
"I know," I said with a soft smile.
I needed to turn this into the police. But if I do- I put people in danger. So far, they haven't done anything and I can't be sure they caused the crash. I just need to take a deep breath. I was letting this get to me. I couldn't keep worrying about this all the time. It was affecting me.
We pulled up to my house. My heart stopped. The front door was sitting wide open. "What the fuc-" I climbed out of the car, sprinting to the front door.
"TRIS! Don't go in there!" Zeke called after me.
I pushed open the door the rest of the way. The lock was broken on the door and our alarm hadn't gone off. The security system had to of been down. I ran to the living room. A table was tipped over, but nothing was missing. A heard people enter the house and I went into the kitchen. My blood ran cold. A picture of me and Mom was on the table, a steak knife sticking out from it. I cupped my mouth with my hand, my lip quivering. "Tris- what the hell? Uriah call the police," Zekes voice boomed.
His arms wrapped around me and pulled me into his chest. Four had now emerged, his face contorting to worry. He pressed his hand to my back comfortingly. I pushed away Zeke. "M-I have to call Mom," I said grabbing my phone and frantically pressing the numbers to call her.
"Tris- what's going on?" Four asked.
It rang once, twice, three times, four times. No answer. "Moms in danger," I said.
"Tris what are you talking about? Why would she be in danger?" Zeke asked.
My phone buzzed and I answered it. 'Hey honey,' moms voice called out.
'Mom. Oh thank god'
'Is everything alright?' Her voice cooed.
'Yeah- i have to go,' I said quickly.
I hung up to find Zeke, Four and Uriah looking at me in confusion.
My phone buzzed again. I picked up. 'Mom, seriously I was just checking in-' a deep voice cut me off.
'This isn't your mom Beatrice, I need you to come to 1589 oak street . Alone' he growled.
'N-no,' stuttered, cursing myself for my shaking voice.
'Have you told anyone?' He hissed.
'No! No I haven't,' I replied quickly.
'I'm getting sick of the games. I want to meet you. Face to face darling,' his deep voice purred.
"Please, I don't want to," I said, turning around and whispering into the phone.
"It's either you, or your precious brother. Or maybe your mom. Or maybe your friends? I have a wide selection," He said, amusement in his voice.
'What time?' I asked, tears in my eyes.
'Excuse yourself, come now," he said.
'No one needs to be hurt,' I pleaded.
'No one except you darling.'
The line was dead. I but back a sob. I kept my back turned. "I have to go," I said as confidently as my shaking voice would allow.
"Tris, wait. Where the hell are you going? The police are on there way. They'll need to talk to you," Zeke said.
I turned around. "Zeke. I have to go," I said, my eyes wide.
"Tris why won't you tell me what's going on?" He asked.
I bit my sobs back. "I-I can't," I said.
"Tris, we can't let you leave," Four said.
"If you don't let me leave-"
"Then what? What have you been hiding? What's going to happen?! I'm not letting you go without knowing where you are. Right now, it sounds like your in danger. If your going then we are going to," Zeke said, grabbing my gently.
"I have o go alone!" I screamed, not meaning to let it slip.
"Alone? Who's said this?" Uriah asked.
"I-I need to use the restroom. Now excuse me, unless you're in a follow me there too," I snapped.
They stepped off, looks of concern. They always over yelled. Always crowded me.
As soon as I was out of earshot and eyes sight and slipped out the front door getting into my car. I pulled out as fast as I could and sped off to the location he gave me.——————————————————-
I pulled up to the location, a dainty abandoned house. It's walls were old and molding, and the windows were musty. The house was small. I nervously took a breath and climbed out of the car. My flats tapped the ground lightly as I pulled on the rusty door handle. I entered, a moldy smell filling my nose. I crinkled my nose. My heart was pounding out of my chest. I took to breaths to keep myself from freaking out. "Hello?" I asked, my blood running cold.I heard a break of board behind me and I punched my eyes closed, turning face to face with my stalker.
