OMG! Chapter 30 already! This is insane! Make sure to comment if you want me to keep writing this series!! I absolutely love it! Anyways, this is a huge chapter so be ready for this ;). All rights go to veronica!
I sat on the couch, wrapped in a thick blanket, watching this show 'Riverdale'. Zeke and Uriah were in the kitchen eating making who knows what. Mar and Christina were on the way over. I wasn't all that excited for another pity party. "TRIS COME EAT!" Zeke screamed from the kitchen.
"No!" I called back.
"Beatrice! I'm not playing this game again!" He shouted back, his stern father like voice coming out.
"No!" I snapped back.
I heard footsteps approach and before I could get away I was pulled off the couch and lifted into the air by my lunatic of a brother. "LET ME GO ZEKE!" I screamed.
I was not in the mood for this. I kicked and struggled. I wanted to break down and cry and this wasn't helping. As soon as he set me down I sunk to the floor. "Tris- seriously? Get up," he said, shocked at my childishness.
I didn't move. He grabbed me and pulled me to my feet but I just sunk back down again. "Tris, get up," he said, getting annoyed.
I just kid against the floor. Uriah was laughing hysterically at my childishness. There was a Knock at the door and I looked at Zeke expectantly. He groaned and left to go answer it. I let Uriah haul me to my feet. I lazily walked back to the couch and collapsed. "Tris!" Christina shouted warily.
She emerged with Mar from the grand entrance and I just shook my head. She ran over to me before pulling me into a hug. "I'm so sorry baby," she mumbled, hugging me tightly.
Mar also pulled herself into the hug. "Are you okay babe?" She asked entry.
"No," I replied, tears in my eyes.
"That son of a bitch doesn't deserve you!" Christina snapped, red hot anger in her face.
"You know what, let's go get the makeup Marlene. We're giving you a makeover babe," Chrissy said.
Will, Jake, and Eddie walked in and greeted me before walking over to where Zeke was. I hesitantly glanced down at my phone. I picked it up and opened my messages from Tobias. I had missed about 30 of them. Why did he care so much. He kissed someone else. He doesn't even want me. But then again- No one texts someone 30 times if they don't care about them. Maybe he wasn't lying when he said he didn't kiss that girl. Maybe.... maybe he really did care. Maybe he did love me. I reached for my phone but it buzzed before I could even pick it up. Tobias. I waited a moment before picking it up. "Hey- Tobias-" his deep breathing filled my ears and his frantic voice cut me off.
"C-come to the hospital now. I-I'm in the ambulance. I crash- Ah!" His agonized cry ripped through the speaker.
I cringed. "I crashed my car," he hissed out.
"Oh-oh god. I'm on my way," I cried into the phone.
My hands were shaking violently. I got up on my shakey legs. I could feel my heart beat in my throat. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. I heard footsteps on the stairs and I stumbled to the kitchen. My breathing felt right. My lungs felt constricted. I grabbed my car keys off the table. I shot a quick glance to Zeke and Uriah who stepped in front of me with concern. Their voices were drowned out by my pounding heartbeat. I felt sweat build up on my palms and I wiped them violently on my jeans. Zeke grabbed my shoulder and shook me. I came out of my daze, blinking slowly, trying to listen to him.
"What the hell is going on?" He asked.
"I-I have to go-" I mumbled, tears running down my cheeks.
"Where they hell are you going?" Uriah asked.
"Uh-uh- f-four crashed. I'm going to the hospital," I said with terror in my voice.
"Oh god- go get in the car. I'm driving," he said snagging the mustang keys and sprinting to the car.
I hesitated for a second before sprinting after him. I left him alone, with no one. I did that to him. It's my fault. If I didn't turn him down he would've been here, and not in a hospital. I should've been there for him. I should've- I should've done something. I sat in the seat as my hands shook. If he isn't alright I'll never forgive myself. I'll never be able to live with myself. If I hadn't let him leave- he wouldn't be hurt. "Tris- I know what you're thinking. This isn't your fault," Zeke said.
"Yes, it is," I said after a moment of hesitation.
"No-it isn't- this is not your fault. you couldn't have know-"
"Please. Just don't," I said with tears running down my cheeks.
Uriah gently rubbed his hand over my shoulder from the back seat. We sat in silence for the rest of the drive, leaving me to my thoughts. As soon as we got there I sprinted inside to the closest receptionist I could fine. "Hello dear, can I help you?" An older woman with greeting hair asked.
"I'm looking for my- my brother," I said, hopeful she'd disclose the information.
"Name?" She asked gently, understanding my level of frustration and worry.
"Uh- Tobias Eaton?" I asked her.
Her fingers tapped the keys wildly and she seemed to have found the answer. "Oh- he's in the trauma unit. They are taking him up to surgery soon. I'm sure you could see him before then. Level 1, all the way down this hall and to the right.
Zeke and uriah were now beside me and I walked where she told me to go and we found ourselves at another desk. "Are you looking for someone?" The short, thin woman asked.
"Uh- my brother Tobias Eaton?" I asked.
"Are you all family?" She asked.
"Yes, were all siblings," I replied without hesitation.
They gave me odd looked but nodded along. "Trauma room 9. Hes going up for surgery soon," she told us, pointing us towards a door.
We quickly found his room and I ran in, finding Tobias. I stopped dead in my tracks. He looked awful. His leg was braced, twisted at a terrible angle. He had a large wound on his stomach and a gash across his head. "Oh-oh god," I cried.
His head turned slowly and his voice croaked," tris."
"Oh god- oh god- I'm here baby, I'm here," I said, stroking his hair.
"I-I'm sorry-"
"No, no shhhhh. The only person that should be sorry is me. I believe you. I know you would never hurt me. I love you baby," I said, tears running down my face.
"I- I love you," he breathed out, his eyes looking heavy.
"I shouldn't- this is my fault. I'm so sorry," I told him.
"No- tris no," he said.
I gently laid my lips against his forehead and he mumbled under his breath, " I love you."
