Leadership

pairing: Eric x Reader

fandom: divergent

request: Hey, could you please to do an imagine of Eric, and the reader where she's a leader of Dauntless. They joined dauntless at the same time please

***************************************

Your friend had that look when she came over, the one she only got when there was something interesting going on. What she had to tell wasn't always good news and right not it seemed to be the case.

"Did you see who Cassie got teamed up with? Freaking Marc!"

Those two didn't get along particular well and whoever thought putting them together for a whole weekend had a really bad sense of humour.

Every year the leadership candidates had to go on a special mission, to show that they were worthy of the position. The mission itself wasn't the real problem, passing them with your assigned partner was. You had to have a certain kind of mindset to become a dauntless leader and it usually included not playing well with others.

"Wait..." If those two didn't get away easily you feared who you'd end up with, "Who did I get?"

"Do you really want to know?"

"Just tell me, please." You groan, shaking your head in agony. Somehow you already knew the answer but still hoped for another one.

"Eric."

The two of you had transferred together but never became friends. After your initiation both of you had been chosen to become leaders as well. You had ranked just a little behind him and it was safe to assume that it pissed him off. The guy hated losing and only liked competition when he was sure to win. He'd never admit to it but with a little more training and time you would just be as good as him. And that was something he'd prevent at all costs.

From all the possible people Eric was the one you got stuck with and you had no idea how that weekend would end.

You'd either get your shit together or both go down.

The train left early the next morning and you sat down in a quiet little corner to sleep some more before you arrived.

The thought of sleep quickly leaves when a bag is roughly thrown to the ground next to you and Eric slumps into the seat on your left.

"Hello, partner." He sneers, clearly as fond of you as you are of him.

"Really? Don't you think we'll have to spend enough time together can't you leave me alone for the rest of the way."

"Don't have to remind me, I'm not thrilled. Just make sure you follow my orders and don't get in the way, we'll be fine then."

Things were not going to be fine. People telling you what to do and assuming they knew better was a big mistake. Didn't like that at all.

As you got off the train and moved into your little room for the weekend in one of the old abandoned erudite facilities, the realisation struck you that this trip had to end with someone giving in and you wouldn't be the one. Probably. Hopefully. Eric always found a way to get to you in the most unpleasant ways.
