26. The Major

The Major - Jasper Hale x Reader

Requested by anonymous: jasper x reader and the reader is shy but confident and can be funny at the wrong time. Since she's dating jasper, she hasn't met the major yet, so when she does she teases him, but good natured, yet everyone is worried that the major will overreact. The volturi find out about her and her powers *controls the elements* she accidentally makes fun of how Aro giggles, the major comes out but everything turns out okay. I just need protective and fluffy major so much right now

You were sitting in the Cullen living room along with the family, just enjoying the afternoon together.

Suddenly, Alice gasped and the book she was reading fell to the floor.

"What is it Alice?" Bella looked at her with concern and reached to touch her arm.

Alice's eyes were completely zoned out and she looked faint. You felt nervous not knowing what she was seeing. A few moments later her eyes cleared up and her brows knit together in focus. "They're coming for her."

Your stomach flipped and fear burned through your veins. "W-what? Me? And who?"

Jasper moved quickly over to you and held you. "Why? What do they want?" You had never heard him sound so scared.

"I saw them testing her abilities...they must know she's special..." She trailed off and looked at you.

"Who?!" You shouted.

"The Volturi." She blinked, still a bit out of it.

You remembered Jasper once telling you about the Italian coven, but you had never met them in person.

"Well what do we do? When will they be here?" Esme stepped forward.

"Soon...I'm—I'm not sure exactly, but soon."

All of a sudden, Emmett came through the doorway looking angry. "The Volturi are coming. I saw them in the clearing while I was out hunting. Why the hell are they here?!" He raised his voice.

"They want to meet (Y/N)." Esme looked over at him. She moved in front of you and held your hands, looking into your eyes. "We'll keep you safe, I promise."

You nod and look over your shoulder at Jasper. You couldn't quite read his face but you knew he was thinking of how to protect you.

You stood in the clearing along with the Cullens, facing the Volturi. All of them looked very menacing except for the smaller man in the middle. His crimson eyes stared into yours as he held your attention. He took a step closer and Jasper's hand tightened around your wrist. You winced at his grip and looked up at him, "Jasper, it's okay."

He looked at you sadly and immediately released your arm. You moved your eyes back to the man and walked forward, meeting him in the middle.

"Hello, dear." He smiles and you feel uncomfortable under his gaze. "My name is Aro and you are (Y/N) I presume?"

You nodded and looked past him at the intimidating faces of his family.

"I've been wanting to meet you for quite some time now. I understand you have something that might be of use to me?"

You don't answer but instead lift your eyes to the sky, focusing on the clouds. The wind instantly picks up and the clouds move closer together, darkening like they do before a horrendous storm.

Aro claps and then covers his mouth. "Magnificent!" He turned to look at a small blonde girl who looked quite unimpressed.

He looked back to you. "Would you have any interest in joining us, my dear? Your gift is one that I have never witnessed and I would be forever grateful."

Jasper growls and rushes to your side. "You're not taking her." His Southern accent is more noticeable and his jaw is clenched. His eyes seem darker as he towers over the dark-haired vampire.

His eyes scan over Jasper and he looks at him pleasantly. "Ah yes...of course I wouldn't want to separate you from your mate. We would love for you to join us as well."

Jasper's breathing increases as he stares down Aro.

"You aren't taking either of us." His voice is deep with anger and you can tell he's becoming like he was when he was first changed. You had never seen the "Major" side of him come out, but you heard from other family members that it could be quite frightening.

"Jasper..." You grip his arm and make him look at you. "You don't have to do this...please." You beg him.

His jaw unclenches at your soft words and he nods. Emmett steps behind him, holding his shoulder as he calms down.

You turn back to Aro and give him a shy smile. "I am flattered by your offer, but I'm perfectly content here with my family." You say politely.

He sighs but nods. "That's quite a shame. Well, I hope to see you again sometime in this life." His gloved hand reaches for yours and he kisses it, backing away and retreating back towards his family.

You turn to face the Cullens again and they look relieved since they were expecting a fight.

Jasper was looking after them as they walked back into the treeline and his fists were balled up. You step in front of him and hold the sides of his face, forcing him to look at you. "Jasper," you smile, "everything is fine. We're okay." You kiss him sweetly and pull away. "I'm so happy you controlled yourself. I don't know what I would do if you lost yourself and tried to fight them."

His face is serious as he looks at you, "And I don't know what I would've done if they tried to hurt you."

"But they didn't and we're going to be just fine." You hug him and he breathes into your hair. His arms wrap tightly around you and you feel safe.
