I woke up the next morning, startled. I checked the time on my phone and realised that I had over slept. Damn it! I'm going to be in sooo much trouble. Ever heard of the girl who turned up late to her first day of work? Yeah, what do you think happened to her? She was fired and never heard from again... I started to mentally drown myself with my tears.

'Great! Juuust great... First day on the job and I'm already late,' I thought. I continued to curse as I got ready for work. Luckily, I had just about managed to pick out my outfit the night before so I wasn't as stressed out as I should have been. I looked for the crumpled up piece of paper that had the address on.

I read the address and verbally memorised it. I was sure to get lost, seeing as I was already running late. Just my luck, right?

I sprinted into the front room to find Min putting coffee into flasks - one for me and one for herself.

"Hey Min, do you know where this apartment is...?" I asked, handing her the apartment address.

Min took one look at the address and started to laugh out loud.

"What's so funny??" I asked with a puzzled look on my face.

She replied, "this is my apartment block and by the looks of it you just have to go one floor up." My jaw dropped. Hallelujah!

Min held my chin and pushed it back up, then she looked at the clock. "Looks like you better get going and quickly too. You've only got 5 minutes until you start work."

I gulped loudly and realised what she had said. "Bye Min," I said as I raced out of the apartment doors towards the lift.

I called for the lift. 'Come on, come on, come quick. I can't be late for my first day...' I kept thinking repeatedly in my head until it became my mantra.

PING! said the lift and I slid in as quickly as possible. I pushed the button for the 21st floor not even realising that there was another passenger next to me.

"Remember me...?" said the voice.

My gaze slid from the buttons to the voice at the side of me.
