AFTER THE PARTY
Seeing as the only sensible ones (Hyuk, Min and myself) weren't drunk, we had the duty of taking all the other drunken members upstairs. Hyuk and Min had already taken Hongbin, Hakyeon and Jaehwan upstairs to their dorm. I'm guessing that they were exhausted that's why I've been abandoned. So, I was left to take Wonshik and Leo up. I managed to get them both in the elevator somehow and pressed the button for the 21st floor. The lift was running smooth up until it started to grind and shake. The light had gone out. I was in darkness. Just my luck. I'm here, worrying about being stuck in a lift that is suspended in mid air by two thick ropes and these two giants were on the floor, sleeping comfortable on my legs trapped as if they don't have a care in the world. I scowled and attempted to get my legs out of their grip. The emergency lighting came on. I looked at the dial to see what floor we were on. 12th floor. OK. So we were 7, 8, 9 floors away. 9 floors. 9 freaking floors. It's just had to break down today of all days didn't it? I got my leg out of Wonshik's grip and kicked the lift door hoping that it would cause it to restart.
To make matters worse, my phone had just died. Of all the bloody days for my phone to die... Ugh! I pressed the button you press for emergencies, hoping there'd be someone on the other end.
"Hello? Is anyone there? We're trapped in the lift."
"There seems to be a problem with the electrical system. Have the backup light come on?"
"Yes, it has."
"Good. That means the backup generator has come on. Can I just confirm which lift you're stuck in so that we can call the emergency services."
I looked around for anything to give me a clue. I looked towards the buttons. There was a number written under the name of the company that supplied the lift.
"It's lift number 140218."
"Thank you for confirming that. The emergency services will be with you shortly. Please remain calm and be patient."
A short while passed before the person on the other side spoke again. "Are you comfortable? Please do not panic. The emergency services have said that at the moment they cannot deploy anyone but they will soon send someone to help."
"OK. Thank you."
So, I waited. I yanked my other leg out of Leo's grasp and sat down on the floor. How could someone so introverted become so touchy when they're drunk?
I grabbed Leo by the waist and sat him up against the far wall. Then I did the same with Wonshik. Wonshik's arms slid around me pulling me in closer. I sat there observing his features. His eyeliner had begun to run. He began to adjust himself about 5 or so minutes later. I just about managed to slide out from his unconscious hug. Searching through my bag. I found a packet of cleansing wipes. I took out a couple and began to wipe Wonshik's face carefully getting rid of any left over make up. I wiped his hands clean of any dirt. I did the same to myself using the lift doors as a mirror and then proceeded to wipe Leo's face. He had begun to sweat so I took off his jacket and put it on my lap. I figured that might help cool him down. Wiping the sweat beads off his forehead, I moved onto his hands. I wiped it gently, trying to be careful. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw his head had begun to twist and turn like he was in pain. I held his arms.
"Leosshi? Leosshi? Are you OK?" He began to mutter something. I couldn't make out what he was saying.
"Leosshi?"
"No..." he whispered.
"Leosshi? Are you OK?"
"Don't... don't go..."
I held his hands tightly. "Leosshi? Come to your senses. It's me. Your manager, Honey." I asked him, trying not to wake Wonshik. I edged forward to touch his neck. I guess I was trying to get a estimate of what his temperature was. He felt hot. Like really hot. I looked back at Wonshik to make sure that he was fine. He had began to snore gently. I looked back to Leo and found him awake looking straight at me. Startled, I let go of his hands. He fell onto my shoulder, his hands unconsciously wrapped themselves around me. "Don't... leave me... please," he whimpered.
"Leosshi. I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere." I whispered as a hand came up cautiously to stroke his hair. My other arm wrapped around him patting his back gently. I stayed in that position until I heard soft snores coming from the body that lay on top of me. I put him to rest against the wall and slid in between the boys. I planned to stay there just to make sure they didn't hurt themselves accidentally whilst sleeping.
LATER ON
I heard him stir. I must have fallen asleep. I sat up, rubbing my eyes. I yawned and stretched. Leo's jacket slid off my lap. I grabbed it and folded it neatly. Soon though, a newly woken Wonshik caught my eye.
"Oh oppa, you're awake?" I asked him. He nodded. He rubbed his eyes and then stretched.
"Uurgh!" he said as he held his head in his hands. "What exactly happened? Why does my head hurt so much?"
"Oppa, do you not remember?" I said as I smirked. He shook his head.
"It was getting late at the party and you were drunk. Hyuk, Min and I managed to grabbed all of you oppas and bring you home safely. Unfortunately, as I got in the lift with the two of you, the lift decided that it was going to have an electrical malfunction. So, we've been stuck in here since 12, 1ish, I don't know to be honest. And yeah, that about sums up our glorious evening."
"Is that all?" he joked. I chuckle and nodded.
"Do you mind?" he said a few minutes later as he stretched a hand out towards me. I looked at him confused. "Your hair," he elaborated.
"Oh, what's wrong with it?" I said as I pushed all my hair to one side, unconsciously leaving the right side of my neck exposed.
He tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. "There," he said as he stroked my cheek. I smiled and tipped my head to the side, then looked down. "Shikkie oppa," I tried to divert the attention from the fact that I was blushing, "Any idea on how to get out?"
Leo stretched. I held my breath as though I feared what would happen next. What was that outburst before? How had I not known about it before? Did he have frequent nightmare like this? And if so, how often?
I decided to put my questions aside for now. The thing is whenever I was alone with Leo, I always felt as though I had to be cautious around him. Like I was walking on egg shells. Why you might ask. Because I couldn't read him. I never knew what his reaction would be or what he would do next. And that made me nervous and anxious.
He woke up and sat up.
"Wonshik-ah..." Leo whispered softly.
"Yes, hyung?" He replied.
"How did we end up in Honey's apartment again?" He groaned in frustration as he ran his hands through his sleek, smooth hair.
"Hyung, we're in the elevator not in Honey's apartment," Wonshik explained further. Leo stilled. He turned his head towards us. My heart had stopped beating. There was an eerie length of silence as we all just stared at the lift door. From my reflection on the lift door, I could see that my hair was all over the place. I lifted my hands to run through my hair, trying to tame it. Soon enough, I had managed to finish my task. While trying to compose my hair, I had caught Wonshik and Leo glancing of me. I had started to wonder whether I should say something but decided against it as they didn't need to be embarrassed any more than they already had been at the party.
For the next two hours, none of us said nothing. We stared at our reflection on the lift doors. Wondering. Imagining. Glancing.
