I woke up startled and hungry as I found myself in the arms of a known stranger. It was in Jun Gi. I pressed my phone to check what time it was. The digital clock the time as 12.15 pm. The day was halfway done and I had slept most of it. Aish! I had a mini tantrum. I probably should have set an alarm.
I looked up at Jun Gi through my lashes. We were close. Like really close. An inch closer and we'd touch. I could feel his warm breath as it travelled down my face. I was sure that when I went to sleep, he was on the opposite side. How did he get here? I held my gaze on him. His chest rose and fell gently. He was asleep. I was stuck. How on earth was I supposed to get out of his grip without waking him up? I mean, he only had his arms wrapped around my entire being.
He stirred. I stayed still and quickly closed my eyes. His breathing was steady. So was mine, even though my heart was beating at an unnatural speed. I felt him move something out of the way and them tuck it behind my ear. He smoothed down my hair by doing light stokes on it. Pulling me in closer to his chest, said to himself, "Why can't you see me? Why am I always invisible to you?" I flinched as I felt a drop of something wet fall onto my forehead. He moved upwards and placed his lips onto my forehead and kept them there. His light snoring resumed. Was he sleep talking? If he was then, was what his dad said true? Did he really sleep walk too? I peered upwards cautiously, hoping that he had fallen back to sleep.
After confirming that he had, I planned my escape. I picked up the arm that was draped across my waist slowly and began to move it across to his own waist. Making as little excess movement as I could, I rose up slowly. It didn't help that there was little to no space for me to move around and that it was a major work out session for the muscles at my core.
It was one of those rare unplanned days that both Min and I had the day free together. I could smell Min making lunch. The smell was heavenly. Pan fried paprika chicken with roasted potatoes and assorted vegetables. It was one of her delicacies. My stomach started grumbling. My mouth started to water. I could almost taste it. Hunger was making me hallucinate. I saw food dancing around my floor. I had enough of this unholy torture. I rolled him onto his other side and held him while I climbed over him. I was still in the same clothes as last night. A dress with conveniently placed pockets, black leggings and my infamous black socks. I did some stretching as I sat at the edge of my bed. Forwards first, then to either side and then backwards to finish off touching my toes. I took off my socks and threw them one by one into the washing basket. We had one for each room when I moved into Min's. It was part of the 'junk' that I had so kindly brought over with me.
"Honey? Are you awake? If you are, lunch is ready!"
"Coming! Let me wash up first." I replied back.
As I was about to wake up a hand flashed from behind me and pulled me back in to an embrace. This time, he was conscious and had managed to cross my arms over. He held me like that tighter than before.
"5 more minutes." Jun Gi mumbled into my hair. I tried prying his hands apart but they were stubborn.
"What... are you doing?" My senses became heightened. I could feel every breath of his as it passed over my skin. It scared me. To think that he was this close. My heart began to beat rapidly, making it harder for me to concentrate on getting out of this situation.
"Just 5 more minutes. That's all I ask. Then you can go and eat."
"How about no more minutes and I go to wash up and then eat?"
He snuggled me tighter. I could feel him coming closer to neck. My breath hitched in my throat. My hands were trapped so elbowing him was out of the question.
"Either you let me go or I beat the living daylights out of you."
"And how would you do that?" He muttered.
