Before you start reading, I need to put in a trigger warning. This chapter may have content having to do with assault that may trigger someone, if so please read with caution and if you ever need someone to talk to know that I am here.
Chapter One
The Frat house is packed.
I warned her that it would be like this, using it as ammo for my defense of staying in tonight. But of course, Vivian did not like that argument. She argued right back that it would only be a small get together. The guy she just started seeing is in Kappa Sig, the hosts for tonight and the biggest fraternity on campus, and he invited her. She didn't want to go alone, so here we are.
"If I'm here, I at least need a drink." I tell Vivian, trying to refrain from any snarky comments I want to make.
Vivian tells I tend to be a bit 'holier than thou' when it comes to "Greek Life" on campus. To which I respond, to call this "Greek Life" is ridiculous and I think Greeks would be insulted.
"That is my language." Vivian grins like a Cheshire cat. With our arms linked, we go find the drinks, which are usually in the kitchen.
Frat parties are a big thing and happen all the time at Lotus College, something I learned the hard way my freshman year. Not because of my crazy party habits as I tried to find the balance between my social life and school work, but rather because of my old roommate coming in and out and all hours of the night. Not that I didn't go out, I did, just not at all as often as my old roommate. I promised myself when I came to college that I would allow myself to have a social life, but still be responsible. Time and place, and balance.
The kitchen island is filled with alcohol of all kinds, much in actual Greek fashion, and I am able to make myself a rum and coke.
"AH! Calvin said he's coming over to find us." Vivian freaks out, in a good way but also in a panicky way. I'm not sure why she is nervous, she looks incredible and she's amazing.
There are two ways to dress for a Frat party. It's a pretty basic rule. Either casual or all out slutty, and I mean that in the "reclaim the word" best possible way. For example, I'm wearing my trusted pair of black ripped mom jeans and a white crop top, whereas, Vivian is wearing little black dress and push up bra.
When Calvin appears, I zone out and let them do their thing, looking around the house I'm in. It's one of the bigger ones on campus. It's actually really beautiful, probably has a rich history; most places on campus do. It's a shame a group of rowdy boys are living in it.
"Vivian, I am going to wander." I tell my best friend as she flirts.
"Okay, we won't stay long. I'll text you." She says back, then she winks at me before wrapping her arms around Calvin. Good thing I am walking away, something about watching my best friend mack faces with a frat boy doesn't appeal to me. Over the years I've seen enough of that.
