Chapter Thirty
My first final is tomorrow.
I've done my best to study despite everything going on. Hopefully the mess, that is currently my life, doesn't get in the way. It's honestly kind of crazy that is where we are in the semester. It's all almost over.
Hades is coming over later so that we can finally talk. He texted, but I haven't seen him since we got back from Olympus. I thought he might come back later in the day, but he must have been busy with Persephone.
I have this fear that she spent the day shit-talking me to him. Who knows what she could have said? If I was her, I would have done the exact same thing.
"Dear Vivian. . ." I've just been studying and listening to a lot of music to keep distracted, as well as writing letters to my best friend that she'll probably never read. After that first letter I wrote, I realized that it is good therapy for me to get it all out.
I slipped on the silver bracelet, I'll give it back to her when I get her back.
At this point, there is nothing I can do about the cult other than wait. Dio has to gather intel, or Hades needs to hear their prayers. But it's christmas in four days. Even cult members who attend lotus need to study, and see their families.
I should probably call my parents... There are no Carson's to run to this holiday, although I am sure despite my fight with Vivian, her parents would welcome me with open arms.
It honestly slipped my mind to call them until now. Really, they should call me, but I know better than to expect that by now.
The line rings sixs times before I hear the click of someone picking up. "Hello?"
"Hey mom!" I put on a happy voice, as to not get too many questions about the mood I'm in. "It's me."
"Aza Grace sweetheart! How nice to hear from you!" It's hard to decipher whether that is genuine or not, so I just go with the former.
"How are things with you and dad?" I make conversation, not wanting to be the first to bring up Christmas. Forgive me for not feeling the holiday cheer this season.
"Oh you know," She starts to answer. "Just getting ready for Christmas."
"Do you have the tree up and decorated?"
"All but the star. We're waiting for you to put it up."
"So you do want me home for the holidays..."
You never know with her, but my mom does seem surprised that I would ask that. "Of course! It's Christmas! Your father booked you a flight weeks ago. Didn't you see the email?"
I check my email, and see that he did, in fact, send me a flight itinerary. Must have missed that...
"Yes off course." I play it off. "I was just making sure."
"We've got a wonderful holiday planned."
"Okay mom. So I guess I'll see you two then."
"Good luck on your finals."
The flight itinerary says my flight leaves the morning of Christmas, extremely early, from the small airport only twenty minutes away from the small airport only twenty minutes away from campus. Of course they are having me leave on the craziest morning to leave ever. Very classic my parents.
There is a knock on my door, I close the laptop and go to open up for Hades.
"Hello Agapi," Hades is holding two coffee in his hands.
