How are we liking our characters? What do we think is going on at Lotus College?

Will we get our answers soon?

Chapter Sixteen

It is officially winter weather here at Lotus college.

Why is it only December 4th and I'm wearing a winter coat and a beanie? Fantastic question, and the answer to that is because for some reason it is freezing cold already! I am very much not into the whole winter thing. Especially Lotus' winter. The cold and the snow, it stresses me out and I am stressed enough.

Class today was a good distraction from everything. Even thinking that makes me cringe, but it is the truth. Instead of ditching class and moping, especially right before finals, I decided to focus on class when I have to and when I am done I am focusing on this cult.

I immediately shed my layers when I walk into the library, because when it is negative degrees outside, it is always a hundred degrees inside here at Lotus.

"Ugh." I sigh, as I spread my things out across the entire table. "Okay, time to get to work."

"Aza Grace, is that you?" Someone calls my name, causing me to look up.

"Oh uh, hey Cal!" I see Viv's boyfriend in front of me. I make sure to slide the papers togethers so that Cal can't actually see what I am doing.

"What are you up to?" He surprises me, by taking the seat next to me.

Cal and I are on good terms but I wouldn't consider us friends that hang out like that without Vivian, so this seems out of character. Although, I am sure Vivian would love this.

"Just working on a research paper." I answer as casually as possible, and continue to slide my papers together.

"Oh yeah, Viv mentioned you were stressing about some sort of paper."

"Yeah, it honestly sucks."

There is an awkward silence for a couple minutes, neither one of us knowing what to say. It's not like Cal and I have that much in common other than Vivian. I'd put more effort into finding what to talk about but I've got enough going on in my head.

"Oh! I wanted to thank you for your help with Viv's party." Cal scooches his chair closer to mine.

"I really don't need thanks." I laugh uncomfortably. "You did all the work, and she had an amazing time."

"What about you and your date?"

"My date?" I can't help but blush. Damn my hormones for betraying me. Why do I freaking blush now?

"Sterling? That was his name right?"

"He was not my date. Viv actually invited him." I correct. "But yeah, we had fun."

"Good, good..."

We go back to the awkward silence.

"Hey Cal, Aza Grace." Another voice joins in on this library party I am apparently now hosting. Standing in front of the two of us now, is Cami and the Twins.

I hold in the groan I so desperately want to let out. Whenever I see the three, that is my immediate desire to react. I can't help it.

"Hello." I let Cal be nice. I'm really not in the mood.

"What are you two up to?" Tee bats her eyelashes at him.

She makes me so uncomfortable. If they think I have forgotten about the whole cocaine in the bathroom situation, they are very wrong. I wasn't that drunk at that point.
