Maureen always told me that Friday was always the less hectic day of the three weekend days, but I wasn't completely convinced by that. It felt very hectic, and at first I felt a bit taken back by it, but after a while I caught myself feeling the adrenaline through my body. I got excited by all the pressure when the car was letting out of the garage and we as mechanics watched closely on the screen at our car. Everything went well, something that hasn't been the case in the last few races that I have watched or that Maureen told me about. Sebastian and the car was on it's way to get back to the pit to change tyres. Maureen was always on the right front tyre together with Brad and Jacob, and that's where I was currently. I had the Tyre gun in my hand while on my right was Jacob who was ready to take the old tyre off, and on my left was Brad with the new tyre. We waited till Sebastian stopped right in front of us, and on the right time I pushed the tyre gun in to the tyre to loose it off the car. It came right off and therefore was the new tyre on the car in what felt like not even a second. Sebastian drove away and both Jacob and Brad gave me and each other a high five. I had a big smile on my face while looking at the tyre gun in my hand. The adrenaline was still in my body and I felt like a child on Christmas morning. While we returned back inside of the garage we got to see our pitstop replay on the screen. 1.9 seconds. I watched it closely and found that Brad, Jacob and I were the fastest out of the four groups, not that it mattered, but well I was competitive, so maybe it did kind of mattered. Sebastian did a few more laps before coming back in to the garage and going back on track in the last twenty minutes . Practise one was soon to be over and after we got the tyres off of the car we could take our deserved lunch. I just followed Jacob and Brad, knowing that Maureen always sat with them, as we walked into the hospitality. We got ourselves a plate full of food before we sat down at a table.
'You were fast today with the pitstop,' Jacob said as a compliment to me. I chewed on my food while smiling at him.
'I'm always fast,' I told the boy with a smirk and a wink.
'That's not true, you've been very sloppy the last few races, can't believe you actually got your shit together right now,'  Brad said, and before I even could ask what he meant by that, I felt my phone ringing that was lying on the table. I looked at it and saw my own name on the screen. It took me a second to remember myself that it was actually Maureen that was calling me, and not me calling myself.. I picked the phone up while pushing my chair away incase I needed to go somewhere quiet.
'Hi,' I said through the phone.
'Hello my lovely sister,' I heard from the other side of the phone. I rolled my eyes. 'How are you doing?'
'Fine,' I said immediately back.
'We all watched you in the garage, you did amazing!' I could hear in my sisters voice that she was smiling proudly, which made me smile.
'Thanks, did they noticed about, you know what?' I asked while my eyes went fastly to the two boys who were talking.
'No, they still think I'm you, even our uncle hasn't noticed, but dad hasn't been at the garage yet, I bet he would notice in a heartbeat,'
'I like to think so,' I said with a small laugh. Our uncle from my dad's side, Joe, was dad's second hand in the garage, because dad had a lot of business next to his own business. So our uncle was in charge for most of the time, and I hated it. I like uncle Joe, but when he becomes manager Joe, he's well... he's a dick. 'But what's the reason for this call? Surely it's not because you miss me,'
'No it's not that,' Maureen said, probably with a big grin. It went quiet on both sides of the phone. 'I have to tell you something,'
'What?' I asked immediately concerned. The two boys in front of me looked at me with questionable faces.
'Remember I have a flight tomorrow morning?' she asked me.
'Yeahhh,' I said slowly, not really knowing what would come next to that sentence.
'It's canceled,'
'What do you mean, it's canceled?' I suddenly didn't care that the two boys had all their attention to me and maybe even heard Maureen's voice through my phone.
'Well, it's not really canceled, I never booked any flight for tomorrow,' This made me stood up immediately, making my chair almost fall on the floor.
'What?' I asked while I started to walk away from Brad and Jacob. 'Did you fall on your head? How stupid are-' While trying to make my way to a quiet place while also wanting to curse at my sister, I didn't look at where I was going and almost loosing my balance when I bumped in to a firm body. The same person took both of my shoulders, helping me to not fully loose my balance and fall on the floor. I looked up and saw the smiling face of the Australian called Daniel.
'Oh, sorry I didn't  look where I was going,' I said to him while feeling embarrassed.
'Don't worry about it, go back to your phone call. It seemed like a very.... heated conversation,' Daniel said while letting my shoulders go.
'Thanks,' I said and put the phone back on my ear and walked outside, leaving Daniel at the place where we almost bumped heads.
'You better have a good explanation to not have that flight booked,' I told my sister on the phone. I heard her sigh, which wasn't the beginning of an answer that I wanted.
'I just need more time back home then I first thought. I haven't seen mom or dad in ages.  I feel like getting a mental breakdown thinking of going back tomorrow,' I got quiet after Maureen's words and suddenly I didn't feel as angry as I was just seconds ago. 'I know I shouldn't have put you in this situation, but you've done so good today and on tv you seemed so happy, so in your element. I didn't think you would mind,' This time I was the one who sighed while I leaned with my body against a wall.
'I don't mind I guess, but what happened to us talking about stuff like this? You could've just told me beforehands,' I couldn't help but feel sad inside. Maureen and I were always so close, always telling each other literally everything. We were close.
'I know I should've told you, but I feel like I'm not allowed to complain. I have a job we both dreamed of as teenagers and I love my job,'
'But you're having a lot of stress?' I guessed.
'Yeah,' I heard her small voice. Before I could tell her that maybe it was a smart idea to tell her boss that, she started talking again. 'but I have to go now. Thanks for doing this Maya,'
'Yeah, yeah, don't worry, I'll just pretend the whole weekend like I know what I'm doing,' It came out more sarcastic then I thought, which made my sister laugh.
'I don't think you have to pretend,' she said back, before we both said our goodbyes and that we would speak to each other somewhere tonight or tomorrow morning. I walked back inside were I sat immidiatly down on the same chair that I sat down on before the phone call while the two boys were still looking at me.
'Little sister or the brother?' Brad asked which made my eyebrows push upwards. They know about me and Thomas? But wait, little sister? Not twin sister?

'Uhm, sister,' I said, trying to not show my confusion. I went back on chewing my food while Brad kept bothering me.
'Did she have boy trouble again?' Again?! What did Maureen share with this guy about me.

'No,' I said, almost feeling offended that this is how he saw me, Maya.
'Okay,' he said back with a smirk, not fully believing her.
'I swear Brad, she's going to break up with that guy anyways,' I don't know why I had to tell this, but it came out of my mouth before I could even re-think about it.
'Good, he sounded like a bore the way you told me about him.' he said still with a smirk. 'Actually, you should invite her to the track sometimes, showing what kind of man she could get,' Brad was very amused with his statement, while I pretended to throw up. Jacob just laughed, but didn't say anything about our conversation.
'You did not just say that,' I said to Brad.
'I did and I mean it,' I stood up, leaving my half eaten lunch on the plate. I pointed my index finger to Brad.
'Disgusting,' I said before leaving the two boys and walking straight back to the garage. Where are Maureens girl friends in this world?

A/N: First of all, Happy new year!! Hope 2019 brings something good for all of you!

And second of all, I feel like I use the word; 'immediately' way too much in my chapters, is that true and does that bother people? Would really like to know.
