I made the smart decision to take a nap immediately after I got back to my hotel room. It did mean that I had a hard time getting out of bed, but I did felt less tired after a long but exciting race day. I had joined Brad, Jacob and Adrien for dinner downstairs at the hotel's restaurant and we were now at the club, joining the whole Red Bull team crew. Two drinks in and Jacob and Brad pulled me with them on the dance floor. It wasn't as any of us where good at dancing, unless people considered the chicken dance that Brad did a good dance move. I guess not. However it did made me laugh. Both of the guys looked ridiculous, while trying to get me to dance with them. They both took each my hand and started to wave around with it.
'You guys are idiots,' I laughed while enjoying myself on the dance floor. I finally let loose and danced with the boys.It wasn't until both of the boys disappeared into the crowd that I head back to the bar for another drink. It was a busy night at the club, which I wasn't used to. Back at home I always went out with my friends, but we mostly just went to a karaoke bar, which was never that busy. I was glad to see one familiar face, because I was almost thinking that everyone just left and went somewhere else.
'Hey, why looking so sad?' I asked Sebastian, who was sitting alone at the bar, drinking his beer. I sat down next to him on the bar stool, being glad I found one familiar face.
'I don't look sad,' Sebastian said, giving me a small smile before taking another sip of his beer. I looked at him with split eyes before the barman took my attention, asking me if I wanted to drink something. They had a few alcoholic names on a board written as their specialty.
'Could I get the uhm.. From uhm,' I tried to pronounce the name right of the drink that was written on the board, but it didn't go as well.
'Fromme Helene,' Sebastian said to the barman, telling him the drink that I was trying to pronounce. The barman nodded, while I looked with raised eyebrows up at Sebastian. 'I saw you struggling,' he grinned to me, answering my questionable look at him.'I was not struggling,' I told the German. I thanked the barman for my drink and took a small sip from it. It was nothing too strong, thank god.
'It's on the house,' the barman told me even before I could take my money out. I looked at him surprised and thanked him again as he winked at me.
'Does the four time champion get a free drink?' I then asked Sebastian as the man behind the bar walked to the other side to take the order from somebody else. I looked at the German next to me who had an amused smile on his face.
'No, I didn't,' he laughed softly, giving me some kind of feelings rolling around in my stomach. I pressed my lips together, trying to not give away the feelings that I feel to the outside world. 'I saw you dancing by the way, looked pretty good,'
'Don't lie,' I suddenly laughed, not being able to hold it in. I shook my head and looked at my glass while I felt my cheeks turning red. I felt his eyes burning on me and in the corners of my eyes I could see him smile.
'I'm not lying!' he laughed, but sounding almost offended. 'You looked cute between those guys wanting to impress you,'
'Jacob and Brad didn't want to impress me,' I laughed, now daring to look back at him. He shrugged.
'Maybe not them, but those other men did,' I looked at him confused. There were other men watching me? 'But you didn't even lay your eyes on them,' he laughed. Suddenly the realization that he called me cute got to me and again my cheeks felt like they were burning.
'There were not! Stop lying!' I said loudly to hide my sudden shyness and give him a playful push against his shoulder.
'Are you calling me a liar?' Sebastian asked, pretending to be shocked.
'What if I was?' I asked, tilting my head a bit to make my comment look a bit more playful. Unfortunately our conversation had to end here as Brad walked up to us and pushed his whole body on my lap.
'Brad?' I asked the guy on my lap a little bit uncomfortable. I know he's supposed to be really close with Maureen and I get along with him pretty well too, but that didn't mean that this wasn't awkward, because it felt awkward on my part. 'How much did you drink after I lost you and Jacob?'
'One,' he only mumbled. I didn't believe him for one second.
'Hey, you got him!' Daniel suddenly joined the group. He looked like he had ran after Brad. Both Sebastian and I looked how Daniel took both of Brad's hand and took the phone out of his hands. Apparently Brad stole Daniel's phone. 'I've been running after this guy for ages, he stole my phone that little drunken shithead,' Daniel explained. I laughed while Daniel checked his phone for any damage that Brad could've done.
'How did you even let that happen, he's at that state that he can't even feed himself,' Sebastian asked with a grin on his face. Both of the guys didn't consider helping me get Brad off of me, instead they kept their conversation going.
'Brad,' I whispered in his ear, trying to get a reaction from him. If he starts sleeping on my lap I'll be doing it the easy way and let him fall to the ground. I got mumbling as respond from him, making me roll my eyes unnoticeable. 'Brad, could you get up, please? You're heavy,'
'I can't feel my legs,' he mumbled again. I sighed loudly, trying to get the attention from the two men. One standing beside me and the other still sitting in front of me. Eventually I just tried to stand up, forcing Brad to do the same. His whole body was leaning on me and I was definitely not strong enough to take that weight on me.
'I'm gonna bring him back to the hotel,' I struggled saying while trying to keep Brad standing straight with all the power that I had in me. This made the two boys finally look at me, with Daniel taking Brad from me.
'I'll go with you,' Daniel said fast, making it not look as casual as it should've had sound. 'Because...uhm, you might struggle getting him back in his room alone,' The corners of my mouth started to curl up as I let Daniel take at least half of Brad's weight to carry.Sebastian stayed, he told us that he was waiting for someone anyway, so that left Daniel and me to get Brad back to his room. Everything went well until we arrived at Brad's door, which was two doors away from mine.
'Brad, where did you left your keycard?' I asked him while Daniel tried to get him to stand straight on his two feet.
'I dunno,' Brad shrugged and let himself slide down to the ground with support from the door. Daniel and I looked at each other.
'I left him alone for thirty minutes,' I sighed. Daniel smiled at me.
'Well, it's not like we haven't done this before,' he said back, trying to get Brad to get up again. He didn't want to get up.'Yeah, I know,' I didn't, of course. 'Could you check if he got his card in his pocket?' I then asked Daniel, not really wanting to check for myself. He nodded and checked for me. 'I don't think he has it on him,'
'Are you kidding me?' I said frustrated, looking around me for a solution, which didn't help, of course.
'What do you want me to do with him?' Daniel asked, not knowing for himself what to do with this drunken guy. I sighed while looking at Maureen's best friend.
'I guess he can crash in my room,' I said trying to pull Brad back up. Daniel came immediately to help.
'You sure?' he asked while taking most of the weight as he pulled Brad's arm around his neck. I smiled at him and nodded.'Yeah, I have a chair in my room he'll fit perfectly,' I joked, meaning I now had a big grin on my face. Daniel looked at me as we slowly walked to my room.
'He will be grateful,' Daniel grinned, but also looked a bit relieved. I took my keycard out of bag and opened the door to let Daniel and Brad get in before me.
'Oh shit,' I said while looking at my room. I turned to Daniel .'Don't look at the mess, in fact, pretend it's not even here,'
I immediately picked up some clothing pieces from the floor while Daniel put Brad on the chair. I wasn't planning on letting Brad sleep the whole night there. I wasn't that bad as a person.
'It isn't that bad, really. You don't even want to see my room,' Daniel laughed as he smooth his shirt with his hand. I put the clothing that I now was carrying in my hands in a pile on my suitcase, which didn't make the room look any cleaner.
'Hey, Maureen,' Daniel suddenly said. I turned around and looked with a questionable look at the guy in front of me.
'Yeah?' I asked, showing him my smile. He opened his mouth, trying to get some words out, but he closed it immediately and was trying to avoid my gaze. I tried to get his attention back to my eyes and asked him again. 'Yeah Daniel?'
His eyes finally met mine again, and while we heard Brad groan in the background, he decided to finally asked the thing he wanted to ask. 'I guess I just wanted to ask if you... if you would like to go on a date with me?'
The corners of my mouth start to go up even higher and higher. 'Jezus, don't let the guy wait too long for an answer, we all know the answer anyway,' we heard Brad say in a muffed voice. A giggle escaped from my mouth after I saw Daniel's face expression to Brad. My eyes rolled slowly down to his arm that I touched to get his attention back.
'I will go on a date with you,' I told him with a smile, making him smile back at me. I guess Maureen should thank me now.
'That's great!' Daniel said with an excited face, making me excited for him and my sister. Now I just had to figure out how to tell my sister about this. Surely she would be excited, right?A/N: This is actually one of my favorite chapters that I have written in a long time. Also, because I have been sick this whole week and therefore been writing a lot. I decided to upload now and probably upload another chapter on Sunday.
