Bey's POV
"You did great. That was a great pitch. I could really see how you took creative control over it. I could really see your mark on it and how you made it your own. Your entire presentation was just absolutely amazing. I loved it. I knew they would pick you. Shawn, you delivered a great pitch," I heard Dad say to Jay.

I couldn't believe Dad. He was making it seem like Jay did all the work, and I was just a pretty face.

But I knew that Shawn wouldn't stand for that. He'd correct him.

"Well thank you sir. That means a lot to me-," Jay started before Dad cut him off.

"It showed some great leadership skills. I knew you were the right choice to be my co-CEO. I could definitely see myself giving this entire company to you," I heard Dad tell Jay.

"Well, the pitch was my idea," Jay told him.

"Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You were great," Dad replied.

I couldn't believe Jay. He was taking credit for the entire thing. After everything we've done together and how hard he and I both worked on this present, he just betrayed me and threw me under the bus like that. Like I did nothing.

He really tricked me. He had me thinking he was this good guy and that we were actually friends. The whole time he was just looking out for himself. He used me.

I guess I was right about him in the first place. He's just a job-stealing, self-centered, lazy, back-stabbing asshole.

I can't believe I ever trusted him and considered him a friend. I'm so done with him.

Men are pigs.

I walked away from the conference room and went to my office closing the door behind me.

Jay's POV
"You did great. That was a great pitch. I could really see how you took creative control over it. I could really see your mark on it and how you made it your own. Your entire presentation was just absolutely amazing. I loved it. I knew they would pick you. Shawn, you delivered a great pitch," Mr. Knowles said to me.

"Well thank you sir. That means a lot to me-," I started before he cut me off.

"It showed some great leadership skills. I knew you were the right choice to be my co-CEO. I could definitely see myself giving this entire company to you," he told me.

"Well, the pitch was my idea," I told him.

"Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You were great," he said to me.

"Even though it was my raw idea, Beyoncé did a lot of amazing work on it. She added so much to the campaign. She really brought something special and changed things around and really made it her own. I had the basis of the idea, but she built off it it and made it so much better. She's such a visionary. It was great to work with her because she has such a beautiful mind. She's a genius, and she really knows what she's doing. It wouldn't have been as amazing as it was without her. I definitely couldn't have done it without her. She's the best I've ever worked with," I told him.

"Well, um, Beyoncé, she is great, but I was talking about you. You-," Mr. Knowles told me.

"With all due respect Mr. Knowles, I appreciate the compliments and all, but I think Beyoncé deserves her praise for the project as well because so much of it was her. It wasn't all me, and I refuse to take all the credit for it because that's not right. That's not me," I told him standing up for Bey because she did a lot of work on this, and I wanted her to get the praise she deserves for it.

"Um, of course, yeah," he said.

"So if that's all, I'll be on my way," I replied.

"Yeah, you can go," he said to me before I left the conference room.

I walked down the hallway until I got to Bey's office. I knocked on the door as it was closed.

"Come in," I heard her say.

I opened the door and stood in her doorway.

"Hey, I was thinking. Maybe we could go out to lunch to celebrate our win today. How about it? My treat," I suggested.

"No. I have a lot of work to do," she said simply.

"Um okay. What about after work? Maybe dinner or a few drinks?," I asked her.

"No, I don't think I wanna go anywhere with you," she told me.

"Why not?," I asked confused as to why she was acting like this.

"Because I don't wanna go anywhere with a lying, back-stabbing, job-stealing, cheat like yourself," she told me.

"What are you talking about? I thought we were cool. I thought we were friends now," I asked her.

"I thought so too, but you proved me wrong after what you did today," she said to me.

"What did I do? I'm so confused right now," I asked her.

"Don't play dumb with me right now! I am not in the mood. You know exactly what you did," she told me.

"No, I don't, but whatever it is I'm really sorry," I apologized to her.

"Just saying 'sorry' isn't going to fix this," she said with attitude.

"Then what will Bey? I don't even know what I did to make you so upset, but I'm trying to make up for it if you'd tell me," I said to her.

"Don't call me Bey. Only my friends can call me Bey," she told me.

"I don't understand what's going on here. I thought we were friends," I replied.

"Friends don't stab each other in the back and take credit for each other's work!," she said to me.

It finally hit me. She was upset because she must've misheard my conversation with her dad.

"You have nothing to say for yourself?," she asked me.

"Bey, I didn't-," I started before she cut me off.

"It doesn't even matter. I don't wanna hear it. I'm so over being hurt by men. I was right about you from the beginning! All you are is a lying, job-stealing, asshole, and I don't want any part of you! You used me and took credit for my work to make yourself look good and further your career. I can't believe I ever trusted you. First, you steal my job, and now you're stealing my work! I will never forgive you for this. I wish you would just quit or something, so you would be out of my life, and I can have the job I rightfully deserve," she said angrily.

"Bey, if you would just let me ex-," I said before she cut me off.

"How many times do I have to tell you that I don't care what you have to say? I don't wanna hear it! There's nothing you could say to fix this! I can finally see your true colors, and you are not someone I want to surround myself with," she yelled as she stood up.

She grabbed her purse.

"I hope being the CEO is worth it, Shawn," she said with attitude and rolled her eyes as she walked past me and out of her office.

I sighed as I leaned against the wall.

"Back to square one. Great," I sighed.
