Bey's POV
I woke up in Jay's bed expecting to turn over and feel his body next to mine, but I didn't.

I opened my eyes a noticed that Jay wasn't in bed. I got up and put on his shirt.

I buttoned it up and put on my thong before heading downstairs. I saw him in the kitchen standing over the stove.

"Good morning," I smiled as I walked up behind him and wrapped my arms around him.

"Good morning beautiful," he said as he turned around and held me in his arms.

I stood up on my tippy toes and kissed his lips.

"You ready for breakfast?," he asked me as I stepped back, and he got the food off the stove.

"I'm not really hungry," I told him as he sat the food on the counter.

"Yes, you are. I heard your stomach growling while you were sleeping. That's why I got up and cooked," he told me.

"You must've heard yourself snoring. I'm not hungry," I replied as I looked down at my hands.

"Okay. What's wrong?," he asked me.

"Nothing," I told him.

"I can tell when you're upset about something because you play with your hands and avoid eye contact like you're doing right now," he said.

"Baby, do you think I'm fat?," I asked him.

"No, of course not. You're beautiful from head to toe. Why are you asking me that?," he asked me.

"Because last night, while I was at my dad's, he called me fat. He said that it would be good for business if I lost weight because no one wants to do business with a 'plump' COO," I told him.

"He called you fat? He called you fat?!
Oh hell no! He can't talk to you like that! That's not gonna fly with me!," Jay said getting upset with Dad.

He grabbed his keys and started heading to the door.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, where do you think you're going there big boy?," I asked him as I got in front of him.

I put my hand on his chest stopping him from going any further.

"Rock solid," I said looking at his chest as I pressed harder on it.

"I'm going to go talk to your dad. Who does he think he is?! He can't talk to you like that! You're not fat, and that's not something you say to your daughter!," he told me.

"So what are you gonna say?," I asked him.

"I'm gonna defend your because he's not gonna talk to you like that. Not while I'm around. He can't treat my girlfriend like that," he told me.

"You're not going anywhere. Sit down," I said to him as I sat down on the couch.

"But babe. He called you-," he started before I cut him off.

"I know what he called me, and I appreciate that you want to defend me, but it's okay. I handled him last night, and if you go talk to him, he's gonna know that we're dating, and you're gonna lose your job, and before you say it, I know that you're gonna say that that doesn't matter, but I know it does. I know that you've struggled trying to take care of Vanessa and make sure she has everything she needs. You've told me, and now, you've got this job, and you guys aren't struggling anymore, and you can't give that up for me. I love you just as much as you love me, and you don't let the person you love do something like that," I told him as he sat down next to me.

"You also don't let anyone talk to the person you love like that. Whether it's her Dad or not. Bey, I can find somewhere else to work, but I can't find another you. You're one of a kind," he said as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close to him.
