One Week Later

Bey's POV
"So what are you doing for Valentine's Day this week, ladies?," I asked as Ashley, Solange, Zendaya, and I sat in Ash's apartment and talked.

"Well, the guy from the hospital that I like, Tom, asked me out, so we're going to dinner," Zendaya said.

"Sitting my single ass at home on my couch with a bottle of wine," Solange said.

"Sounds fun. Mind if I join?," Ashley said to Solange.

"Not at all. Misery loves company," Solange told her.

"You guys make Valentine's Day sound so sad. It is a great day to celebrate with the person you love," I said to them.

"Whatever Little Miss Sunshine. How about you tone it down a little bit?," Solange said to me.

"Yeah, what are you and Micah doing anyway that's got you so excited?," Ashley asked me.

"Okay. First, his name is Michael-," I start before she cut me off.

"Irrelevant," Ashley interrupted.

I gave her the side-eye as before continuing to talk.

"Well, I'm surprising him. I'm gonna have his favorite dinner waiting on him when he gets home," I told them.

"That's cool. I guess," Solange said.

"Come on guys. Don't be like that. Michael and I have really been doing great these past two weeks. We've been working through our issues together, and I really just wanna do something special for him to celebrate that," I told them.

"I just get this bad feeling about him Bey. I just can't help but feel like he's gonna hurt you. I think you should really just stay away from him," Ashley explained.

"Yeah, me too Bey. I'm with Ash," Solange added.

"Come on Zendaya. Back me up here," I said to my youngest sister.

"Sorry Bey, but I feel the same way. He's been acting off at the hospital. He's been acting really jumpy at me and stuff. He seems like he's hiding something," Zendaya told me.

"I'm sure it's nothing. He's a doctor. He's seen a lot of things at that hospital," I said brushing it off.

"Alright Bey. Whatever you say. It's obvious that we're not gonna be able to change your mind. Let's just talk about something else," Solange said.

Next Day

Bey's POV
"Hi," I said to Jay as I walked into his office.

"Hey," he replied as he looked up at me.

"Are you going somewhere?," I asked him noticing that he was grabbing his things like he was about to head out.

"Um yeah. Actually, I am, but I'm not in a rush. Did you need something?," he asked me.

"No, I was just gonna ask if you wanted to go to lunch with me, but you already have plans, so it's fine," I told him.
