Few Days Later
Bey's POV
I walked into my office. Well, walk is an overstatement. I limped into my office and let out a great sigh of relief once I finally got to my chair.
I was feeling a little better than I felt the day I went to the hospital, but I was still hurting.
Jay has been very helpful while I've been injured. Not that I would've expected him to be anything less than helpful.
"Hey Bey," I heard as my assistant, Demi, walked in my office.
"Hey Demi," I said as I looked up at her.
"Your dad wants to see you," she told me.
I sighed as I rolled my eyes.
"Sorry, he asked me to tell you. Don't shoot the messenger," she replied.
"No, it's fine. Thank you," I said to her as I stood up from my desk.
"You're welcome," she said as she left my office.
I got up and limped out of my office trying to make it look as normal as possible.
I went to Dad's office and knocked on the door.
"Come in," I heard him say from the other side.
I opened the door and walked into his huge office. Like I told y'all, this man thinks he's a king. He's got the biggest, grandest office in the whole building. It's so over the top you would think he lives here.
"Good morning Beyoncé. Why don't you have a seat?," he said to me as he sat at his desk.
"Good morning Dad," I said as I took a seat across from him.
"Let's skip the formalities and cut right to the chase. Where have you been the past few days? I've been calling and texting you for days, and you haven't been responding. You've gotten very behind on your work. You should honestly be ashamed of yourself," he asked me.
I should've known that I wouldn't be able to avoid him for much longer.
"Wow, no 'how have you been Beyoncé?' No 'are you okay?' No 'I'm sorry for the verbal abuse?' No 'I'm glad to see you back safe and sound?' Wow Dad," I asked him as I sat back in my chair.
"I'm only gonna ask you this one more time. Where the hell have you been? Making my business look bad because you got your little feelings hurt! I'm not gonna apologize because I told you the truth! You have put on a lot of weight! I'm not gonna sugarcoat anything! I'm not gonna put up with much more of this from you!," he yelled at me as he stood up.
"Okay. First of all, I was in the hospital! I pulled my hamstring! Then I went home to rest because I could barely walk! And second of all, you don't have to worry about me anymore because I quit! I'm done!," I told him as I stood up.
