1:30 amBey's POV
I woke up feeling something being thrown at me. I opened my eyes to see Jay in the hospital bed smiling and throwing his pillows at me."Stop throwing shit at me dumbass. You scared me half to death," I told him as I grabbed the pillow that he threw at me and got up from the chair next to his bed.
I put the pillow back behind his head.
"I told you that I was perfectly fine," he said before he started coughing a little.
"Yeah, because people who are perfectly fine pass out in the middle of the dining room floor," I told him as I sat back down.
"I'm sorry that I scared you, but you didn't have to bring me to the hospital," he said.
"Stop trying to be so tough for one second. I know you don't feel good. There's no way that you could possibly feel alright. You're sick Jay. You've got the flu. You're sleep deprived. You're dehydrated, and you're blood sugar and blood pressure were low. Care to explain?," I said to him.
"No, not really," he replied.
"The doctor said that the dehydration, low blood pressure, and low blood sugar was most likely the result of you not eating and drinking enough, and you probably got the flu from someone at work. With you not eating and drinking and taking care of yourself the way you should, it made you more susceptible to the flu. And because of all that, your body shut down on you. Wanna tell me why you haven't been eating or drinking water? You do know that you need food and water to live? And the doctor said that you've had the flu for at least a week. Why didn't you tell me?," I told him.
"Yeah, I know. I've just been so busy with work, and I just thought I was getting a regular cold, not the flu. I just have so much to do. I got all these people dumping work on me. I guess I just kinda put food and water out of my mind to get my work done. It took me forever to put in to have the night off to be with you," he told me.
"Well, the good news is that you're not contagious anymore. That contagion period is over according to the doctor, but that doesn't mean you're not gonna feel the symptoms. But Jay, that job is literally killing you. You need to quit and find something else to do. I can't have you laying up in hospital beds," I said.
"You don't think I've been trying. I can't find anything," he said.
"We'll find you something, and you're gonna get some much needed rest because you can't go to work while you have the flu," I told him.
"Alright, well, I guess I'll have to because I don't have much of a choice now," he said.
"No, you don't, and when we get home, you're going to get in that bed and let me take care of you," I told him.
"Speaking of going home, when do I get to leave?," he asked me.
"Well, they're gonna keep you until later on this afternoon for observation. Then if you remain stable like you are now, they'll let you go home. Now, go to sleep. Get some rest," I replied.
"Alright, boss lady," he joked as he closed his eyes to go to sleep.
"I love you baby," I told him.
"Love you too," he said with his eyes still closed.
"When you get better, I'm gonna beat your ass for scaring me like that," I told him.
"Okay, I'd like to see you try babe," he smiled.
I laughed as I sat back in my chair.
I waited until I was sure that he was sleeping before I grabbed my purse and quietly snuck out of his room and shut the door behind me.
