Vanessa's POV
I was sitting my Calculus class about to fall asleep. The only thing that was keeping me awake was looking at the clock to see if it was time for the bell to  ring.

I'm sorry, but this shit just makes absolutely no sense. I swear, it's like this teacher is speaking Spanish.

And why the hell does this math have more letters than numbers?

I swear, I can make a whole sentence out of one equation.

After a little while of hearing my teacher drone on and on about this crazy mess, I just gave up and fell asleep.

"Vanessa," I heard my teacher say waking me up from my sleep.

"Yes, Ms. Lopez?," I said as I quickly picked my head up off my desk.

"If you're done sleeping over there, would you care to give me the answer to this equation?," she asked me.

"Ummm...," I trailed off trying to make sense of the things she had written on the board.

Just as she was about to say something, the bell rang.

Thank God.

I quickly gathered my things as I hopped out of my chair. I hurried towards the door to leave the room before Ms. Lopez said anything to me.

"Vanessa, may I speak with you please?," she asked me.

I sighed as I turned back around and walked towards her.

She waited until everyone left before she started talking.

"Falling asleep in class Vanessa, again? Seriously?," she asked me.

"Sorry Ms. Lopez. It won't happen again. I promise," I told her.

"That's what you said last time and the time before. And I told you if it happened again, I was gonna have to call your brother about this," she told me.

"No, please don't call my brother. I'm gonna stay awake from now on. Plus, he's gonna blow this way out of proportion," I pleaded with her.

"It's not just the falling asleep Vanessa. You failed the last exam, and your brother is your legal guardian. He has a right to know what's going on with you at school. Now, I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to call him," she told me.

"Fine," I sighed as I started to make my way out of the room.

Bey's POV
I unlocked my office door after leaving lunch with Michael.

I actually left him there because I just wanted to enjoy my food in peace, but he insisted on talking about getting back together, and I just couldn't take it.

So I just got up and left him there, but I got my food to go though.

I opened my office door and walked inside. I put my purse down behind my desk as I sat down in my chair and turned on my computer.

"Hey Bey," I heard from the hallway.

I looked up and saw one of the janitors standing in my doorway with the rolling trash can.

"Hey Eddie," I smiled as I looked up at him.

Eddie was an older man. He had been working as a janitor here for years. He's really sweet and kind.

"What's up?," I asked him.

"Well, I was about to take out the trash when I saw these roses, candy, and teddy bears just sitting on top. There's a card in here with them. They were for you. Did you throw them away?," he told me.
