As promised, you went home and spent the night with your friends. You accepted their apologies, stuck on a shitty movie and laughed loudly, popcorn spilling from your mouth, when someone made an inappropriate joke.
It was a brilliant night, and spending time with your girls made you feel rejuvenated. However, that wouldn't last long. Soon you found yourself standing outside of school, looking up at it in total terror. This is it. This is when you apologise to Andy and pray it goes well.
You threw yourself in to the chair and sighed, leaning on your arm. You couldn't find Andy at all and now it was last period and he was no where to be seen. You always had English together.
It was as if he was going to extreme lengths to hide from everyone, because apparently no one in the group had seen him either. Yet, other students said they had seen him around when asked.
It had all become to frustrating and you were just about ready to give up when the topic of thought walked through the door.
You perked up immediately, not unnoticed by him, which is why he tried to get a seat away from you. He was unsuccessful though, since he was late, and decided that sitting next to you didn't necessarily mean he was okay with you.
You watched him sit down, heart racing and mind turning, thinking about what you were going to say to him. You came up empty every time though.
Soon the teacher had assigned you to come up with ideas amongst yourselves and you turned to look at Andy. He didn't look at you. You didn't blame him.
"Hey." You leaned closer towards him. He didn't even bother to move a muscle in acknowledgement. "Can we talk?" You asked hopefully. Still nothing. "Please?" There was so much desperation in your voice that Andy couldn't say no to.
He turned his head towards you and waited for you to continue, only you had no clue where to start. You opened your mouth but the only sound that came out was you choking on air.
"Good talk." He grumbled, turning his attention back to his empty note book.
"I'm sorry." You finally managed to speak.
Andy only shrugged and looked around the room.
"I am. Truly. I didn't-" your apology was cut short by your teacher, now suddenly standing in front of you, firmly placing a book down on the table.
"Since you two seem to be equipped with the work, you can go and grab all the copies of this book for me from the library." She stated politely, seemingly misunderstanding the topic of conversation.
Andy sighed but stood up, walking out quickly while you took the hall pass. You skidded after him, trying your best to keep up with him but failing miserably.
It wasn't until you got to the library that you were able to stand next to him. "Please Andy!" You whimpered, growing desperate yet tired.
He quickly turned around to face you, face inches from yours. The sudden movement made you fall back against the wall where you thought it would be wise to stay from the look in his eyes. "You don't get to pester me like this. Not after that stunt you pulled. Not after you made me confused and jealous and hateful and mad for months!" He said harshly, making you flinch.
The librarian told you to quiet down which prompted Andy to grab all the books and carry them on his own.
You scurried after him, thinking of how you'd try and turn this around, but half way down the corridor, you remembered what Patrick had said. If he didn't accept your apology, move on.
You stopped walking and watched Andy continue down the hallway. The twinges in your chest grew and grew until they spread up your chest and into your throat. They pushed tears to your eyes but your refused to let them fall. You wouldn't cry over this. You're better than this.
You averted your gaze to the floor, not knowing what else to look at. And then when you found the floor to dull, you slowly turned around and started to walk the other way.
