Chapter 3

After school

Laura:(getting her things together to go home)

Ross:(walks up to her and does the same) Hey

Laura: Oh hey

Ross: You wanna go see a movie?

Laura: Um... sure I guess. You can--

Ross: No I mean now

Laura:(smiles) Are you serious?

Ross: Why yes I am (smiles) So movies?

Laura:(thinks) Sure (smiles)

Ross: Then it's a date

Laura: A date?

Ross:(panics) (talks really fast) U-Unless.. you want it to be a date. It doesn't have to be a date if you don't want it to be. I was just... trying to make a laugh and all but totally didn't mean it like that. Not like a date date but a friend date you know. It would be really awkward if you and I went together on a date and--

Laura:(covers him mouth with her hand) Ross

Ross:(calms down and looks at her)

Laura: It's okay. Besides, I want it to be a date (bites her lip)

Ross:(smiles big)

Laura:(removes her hand from his mouth)

Ross: Okay. Meet me out in the parking lot then

Laura:(nods)

Ross:(walks away with a big smile on his face)

Laura:(smiles and grabs the rest of her things)

Maia:(walks up to her) Hey sis, ready to go?

Laura: Um... I'm actually gonna hang with a friend of mine

Maia: Oh that's cool then. Hey Laur, I want to join the cheer leading squad but I'm scared to go up there alone so...

Laura:(sighs) You want me to go join so you won't be that nervous

Maia:(smiles) Thanks Laur (walks away)

Laura: You owe me!

Maia: I always do!

Laura:(playfully rolls her eyes and walks out to the parking lot) (looks around for Ross) Ross? Ross?

???:(grabs her by the back)

Laura:(scared and kicks ??? in the stomach then slaps ??? with her binder)

???: Ow Laur! (holds his cheek)

Laura:(eyes widen) Omg! I am so sorry Ross. It's just when I get scared I do... well that

Ross: It's fine I guess (holds his cheek)

Laura: I'm really sorry (runs away)

Ross: Laura wait! (tries to run after her but is in to much pain) Laura! Come back! (sighs and watches her till she is out of sight) Nice job Ross (face palms himself) Stupid

With Laura

Laura:(Running all the way to her house) (opens the front door and slams it shut sliding down her back on it feeling sad and guilty)

Ellen:(walks up to her) Oh hey sweetie

Laura: Hey mom

Ellen: What's up?

Laura: Oh nothing

Ellen: Maia said that you were going to hang out with a friend

Laura: Yeah.... we had to hang out another time

Ellen: Oh okay then. Are you okay? It looks like you've been crying

Laura:(quickly wipes her tears) No, it's nothing at all. I swear I'm fine (fake smiles)

Ellen:(isn't convinced) (sighs) Alright then (walks upstairs)

Laura:(breathes a sigh of relief and goes upstairs to her room talking to herself) Great, now he's never gonna ask me out again or even be my friend (sighs) Why did I have to take karate and judo? I must be a freak to him now

The Next Day

Laura:(asleep) (wakes up and stretches) What time is it? (checks the time) 10:30am!

Ellen:(runs in) Laura! Are you okay?

Laura: I'm so late for school

Ellen: I called you in sick Laura

Laura:(confused) Why would you do that?

Ellen: Well, you were crying in your sleep so I thought you might want to skip the day

Laura: Oh...

Ellen: You can go to school if you want

Laura: It's okay. Thanks mom, that's what I need

Ellen:(nods) Okay then. Just shout if you need anything

Laura:(nods) Yup

Ellen:(goes downstairs)

Laura:(takes a deep breathe running her hand through her hair sitting on the edge of her bed thinking)
