The Next Morning

Ross:(wakes up yawning) (looks around seeing Rydel & Laura hugging) What's going on?

Laura:(looks at him and hugs him)

Ross:(hugs back) What's wrong?

Rydel: Thanks to Riker & Rocky, she's scared of the scary stories

Ross:(pulls away looking at Laura) Did you even sleep last night?

Laura:(sighs shaking her head)

Ross: You could've woken me up

Laura:(looks down)

Rydel: I'll tell mom that you'll be running late at breakfast and teach Riker & Rocky a thing or two... thousand (walks out)

Ross:(looks at her)

Laura: You were sleeping and I didn't want to disturb you

Ross: why?

Laura: Bc I thought you'd think of me as a childish fool

Ross: Why'd you think that?

Laura: Bc my dad use to tell ghost stories when we went camping last time, when I woke up Maia and told her that I was scared she called me a child and that I need to grow up and stop being idiotic

Ross: When was that last time you went camping?

Laura: Um.... when I was little

Ross: Well your sister learned a lot of things early

Laura: I know

Ross:(wraps his arms around her sitting behind her having her in between his legs having her body lean against his chest) I'm sorry I wasn't here for you and don't you ever think that I'd do that to you, bc I won't

Laura:(looks at him) How do I know that?

Ross: Bc I'm not your sister and I wouldn't do anything to hurt you, remember our promise rings?

Laura: Promise rings?

Ross: Oh shoot!

Laura: What?

Ross: Before you were gonna break up with me... (Sighs) I was gonna give you a promise ring that matched mine to promise each other that we would never break each other's heart but I must have forgotten

Laura:(gasps) I'm so sorry Ross (sad) I already broke the promise that we were gonna vow, I'm so sorry

Ross: Nah it's okay. My fault I didn't know anything about the thing about you and Maia still, I should've known

Laura: It's not your fault, you didn't know and I didn't bother to tell you

Ross:(looks at her) Promise to tell me everything?

Laura:(nods) Promise

Ross:(Smiles) Good (kisses her cheek) You wanna join everyone eating breakfast or want to eat in here alone?

Laura: Eat here alone... with you (Smiles)

Ross:(smiles) Okay. I'll be right back (Gets up about to walk out)

Laura:(thinks of a moment and eyes widen) I-I'll go with you (quickly stands up holding his hand)

Ross: Okay (gets out with her) It's not real Laura, I promise

Laura:(nods and scratches her foot on something) Ow

Ross: What?

Laura:(looks down and sees a bloody hook) (screams running back in the tent)

Ross:(grabs the hook) (groans) Rocky!

everyone:(but Laura) (walks up to him)

Rocky: You called?

Ross:(shoves the hook to his chest) Keep this to yourself, you scared the shiz out of Laura

Rocky: I was looking for that

Riker: Rydel told us

Rocky: By told us he means shouting in our faces and beating us with a stick she found in the ground

Rydel:(Smiles) I care about my future sister in law

Ross:(blushes rolling his eyes) Shut up Rydel

Rydel: You know it's true

Ross:(rolls his eyes) can I just have breakfast for me and Laura so I can comfort her quicker?

Stormie: Sure sweetie, I'll give to you in the ten, go calm Laura down

Ross: Thanks mom (runs to the tent walking in) Laura?

Laura:(looks at him curling up her knees to her chest)

Ross: Oh Laur (sits next to her) I'm sorry

Laura: That really scared me

Ross: Laura it's not real, I promise

Laura: How do you know?

Ross: Bc when I was little, I always believed that monsters exist and was afraid there were some in my room, so for the next 2 years I was sleeping with my parents

Laura:(giggles a little)

Ross: I was 5, shut up

Laura:(stops) I'm sorry (Smiles weakly) What did you do to get over it?

Ross: My mom told me a story about how monster's were nice and that they don't exist at all

Laura: So your point is?

Ross: Don't let your imagination fool you, it doesn't deserve to beat you down in the inside. Be strong and fight it

Laura:(smiles weakly) Thanks Ross (kisses his cheek) For everything

Ross:(smiles) You're welcome

Stormie:(pokes her head out of the entrance) Am I interrupting?

Ross:(shakes his head) Nothing mom

Stormie:(hands them their breakfast) Well here you go, I hope you enjoy it and be sure to pack up your things

Ross: Huh? Why?

Stormie: We're thinking about making this trip short

Laura: Stormie you don't need to do this bc of me

Stormie: We know but Ryland is sort of getting sick of the mosquitoes

Laura:(giggles) I'm really sorry for ruining this

Stormie: Don't be sorry sweetie, hope you like your breakfast (walks out)

Ross & Laura:(eat)

Ross: So you still scared?

Laura: Yeah but nothing that we can't do (holds her hand) together (Smiles)

Ross:(smiles peck kissing her lips)

Laura: You ate the hash brown first, didn't you?

Ross: Yeah, why?

Laura: I can taste it
