Chapter 6

Riley's pov

I was heading out when my dad asked me to stay.

"Hey, is Maya okay? She seemed-"

"Different?"

"Um...yeah. A little. I don't know, she never acted like that before. Sure, she has disrupted before...but never like that."

I nodded. I realized the same thing.

"I know. Something's going on." I said. Something with her parents. A few weeks ago when I mentioned her dad she got all quiet and she changed the subject."

My father looked deep in thought. He sighed.

"Just talk to her. Make sure she's okay."

I nodded again and went to find Maya.
