Cory's pov

~

I felt it everyday. The guilt, eating up my insides. Riley had pulled away. She wouldn't talk to me, or Topanga. I tried to get through to her, but it was useless.

When Auggie pointed out that she didn't talk anymore, it broke my heart.

I saw the look in Topanga's eyes. Everything hurt. It was like a punch in the face.

Then when Riley did talk, it hurt even more.

"Do you know what I want for Christmas? I want MAYA."

Bam! Another punch in the face.

She left and slammed the door.

Topanga was crying.

"Cory-"

"I know."

I grabbed her hand.

"I don't know what to do. This is all my fault."

"Don't say that-"

"Why? It's true. I accused Maya of getting Riley drunk and bringing her to a party with drugs. I yelled at her. I kicked her out of the house when she didn't have anywhere to go. What's wrong with me?"

She looked at me.

"She didn't even do anything. She didn't want to go to the party. I saw the footage of the party. There were cameras. That's how the cops knew there were drugs at the party. They showed me some of it, when they were looking for all the people who consumed drugs. There was one part, where Maya was telling Farkle that she didn't want to be at the party. That she only went to protect Riley."

I felt the tears coming.

"Now god knows where she is."

The tears came.

Topanga didn't know what to say. How could you argue with the truth?

We just sat there, crying. It didn't feel at all the Christmas was only 3 days away. There's really nothing to celebrate.
