Riley's pov

Today it's been exactly 2 months that she's been gone. 2 months we've been searching for her. 2 months I've been crying myself to sleep, worried about her safety. 2 months since my world has lost all it's color. Since I stopped smiling. Since I stopped laughing.

She wasn't my best friend. She was more than that. She was my sister. I love her and I always will. Whenever she is.

Christmas was around the corner. But I didn't feel like celebrating anything. Not without Maya. It wasn't the same.

"What do you want for Christmas Riley?" My father asked me.

We were all having dinner. Auggie sat next to me and said:

"Oo! Can I have that cool toy truck that Tommy has? Then we could race and I could show my girlfriends how cool I am!" Did I mention that my brother is 5?

My parents laughed.

"Auggie I was talking to Riley."

He shrugged.

"I don't get it. Why do you bother. She doesn't really talk much anymore."

My parents both looked at each other and sighed.

"Riley please talk to us. We want to help you."

They didn't understand. They never will. I didn't want to talk to them. I didn't want to talk to anyone but Maya. But she wasn't here. I didn't know where she was.

"Riley please-"

I stood up slamming my plate against the table.

"Do you know what I want for Christmas? I want MAYA."

I turned around and walked out, violently slamming the door on my way out.
