Hey guys, I was reading the previous chapter and realized that there are a lot of typos. Sorry if you got confused...they were really stupid mistakes. Hopefully you all understood what was meant to be typed. Anyway, enjoy!

Riley's pov

~

My dad nudged me. I had finally stopped crying, and I was leaning against him, my face buried in his shoulder.

"Riley look."

I looked up and saw her. She was walking, breathing, talking.

Thank god.

I got up and ran to hug her.

"Maya!"

I squeezed her, but not too hard. I was still scared she would go back into the coma.

I hadn't seen her for so long, and now, finally getting to see her after all these months, it just felt so good to hug her.

When Maya noticed my parents, she pulled away.

"Riley-"

"Stop it." I said.

"What?"

She just came back to me, and she was about to pull away again.

"Stop trying to protect me. You think you are, but you're not. You caused me more pain these past months then the whole time I knew you."

She looked at the ground, then back at me.

"Your father-"

"I don't care what he thinks."

"But he wants me to stay away from you Riley. And I told him I would."

I shook me head.

"No-"

"Maya." Said a voice behind me.

I spun around and faced my father. I was about to tell him off when he said:

"Riley, can I talk to Maya? Please?"

He looked guilty. I could tell. He knew what he did was wrong. He knew he shouldn't have assumed it was Maya who brought me to the party. He was going to apologize.

I nodded and went to sit down next to Lucas. He looked so happy. He had this weird look in his eyes. Like he was looking at someone he cared about so much he would do anything for them. Someone he truly would fight for. I followed his gaze to where Maya was standing, with my father.

Suddenly, everything clicked. Lucas really did like Maya. And considering the fact that Lucas's voice woke her up, I'm pretty sure Maya likes Lucas too.

But what was odd was, I wasn't angry. Not at all.

I smiled. There was just something about the way he was looking at her. Something that made me feel warm inside. He cared about her so much, that he would cross the world just for her. That's what I saw in his eyes when he looked at Maya. Admiration, love and happiness.

Maya needed Lucas. She deserved a guy like him. A sweet, caring, loyal guy who would always be there for her, like her parents never were. She needed him more than I did.

Maybe Lucas and I were never meant to date.

"You're staring." I said, smiling.

He snapped out of his daze. He looked at me, guilty.

"No...uh- I wasn't-"

"It's okay Lucas. If you like her, go for it."

He titled his head, puzzled.

"But-"

"No buts. Go for it."

He smiled and I did too. For the first time since I met him, I looked at him in a different way. I looked at him as a friend.
