Farkle pov

~

I sat down and stared off into the distance. I felt so alone.

The cool breeze blew my hair back. Someone put there hand on my shoulder and I slowly turned around. It was Riley.

She said next to me on the park bench. Central Park was so beautiful. So romantic. I only wish I had someone to share it with.

"Hey." She said quietly. "Are you okay?"

I nodded and forced a smile.

"Yeah...yeah I'm fine. Why?"

She shook her head and reached for my hand.

"No. You're not. I know you Farkle. I've known you all my life. This isn't you. This isn't the Farkle I know. And I want to know why, and I want to know now."

I looked up at her, my eyes watering.

"Riley-"

She leaned in closer, both her hands resting on my hands.

"Farkle it's okay. You can tell me."

In that moment, I felt like telling her everything. It was Riley, the girl I've known since we were 4. We've been friends forever, and she would always help me when I was trying to impress Maya. She was the best friend a guy could ever ask for.

"My...um...my parents. They...um, they got divorced. And I always thought they loved eachother, that they would be forever but now..."

I trailed off, tears rolling down my face.

She hugged me, and rested her head against my shoulder. It felt good. It was comforting.

"I...I feel alone." I whispered.

What if the same happened to me? What if I never find someone?

"You are never alone, Farkle." She said.

She lifted her head from my shoulder and looked up at me. I looked at her. We were so close our noses were practically touching.

"Riley." I whispered.

"Yes?"

"Thanks."

"For what?"

"Just for being you." I said. "For being my friend. For always making me feel better."

She smiled. I love that smile.

We both sat there for hours and just spoke about...everything.

I missed her, I realized. With all the stuff that happened this year, we hadn't really had time to talk. This felt good.

She giggled.

"Do you remember when we were kids and you tried to hug Maya, but she would always push you away, so you went and hugged that other blond girl in the park?"

That memories resurfaced in my mind and I laughed.

"Oh yeah! Her father freaked out and told me to get away from his daughter. I guess I was a ladies man at a young age too."

We both laughed. We shared stories of our childhood, and of when we didn't have a care in the world. Life seemed so much more complicated now. I missed those memories.

Riley and I looked up at the beautiful pale blue sky.

"Doesn't that cloud look like Lucas?" I asked her.

She looked at me, then back at the could.

"What...? How does that look like Lucas?" She said laughing.

I grinned.

"You know. It has the same country vibe to it."

"How could a cloud have a vibe?"

I smiled and gave her playful punch in the arm.

"Don't judge."

And she didn't. She never did.
