Riley's pov

~

I heard the sound of someone coming through the window in the middle of the night. I got out of bed and headed towards the noise.

I knocked into someone.

"Ow!"

"Riley what the hell?!"

It was Maya.

"What are you doing?" I whispered angrily. "Where did you go?"

"No where. Go to bed."

I groaned. I was too tired to argue.

"You're so telling me in the morning." I said as I got into bed.

"Morgan please stop. I need to get ready for Career day today." Said my mother to Morgan, who was throwing grapes at her.

"Career day sucks." She replied, 10 grapes in her mouth.

"Don't talk with your mouth opened." Said my mother. My father walked into the kitchen.

"Didn't your mother teach you guys manners Cory?" My mother and my father.

"Yeah," he said. "But Morgan didn't quite grasp them."

My aunt laughed and nodded in agreement.

My dad turned to his sister.

"Hey Morgan, I'm going to need you to drive us to the school, my car broke down."

She groaned.

"Why can't you just take my car?" She said.

"I don't know how to drive a stick shift." He replied.

Morgan groaned again.

"What kind of grown man doesn't know how to drive stick shift?" She muttered getting up.

"It's always a pleasure having you here sis."

Why was she here? My parents never told me why. Maybe she was just visiting. But why was she sleeping here? I didn't get a chance to ask. My parents, Morgan, Auggie, Maya and I all headed for the car.

Maya's pov

~

I sat down in my seat. I hated Career day, mainly because I didn't really have any parents. One was in jail and the other disappeared off the face of the earth. They aren't exactly nominees for the best parents of the year award.

Meanwhile, it seemed like Riley's whole family was here. Morgan was sitting at Cory's desk, Topanga stood next to her with Auggie and Cory himself was in the front of the class talking.

"My wife is here today to talk to you about her job as a lawyer."

That second, the door opened and Cory's parents walked in.

Morgan's eyes widened when she saw them.

"Cory what are mom and dad doing here?" She whispered angrily.

"They wanted to take about retirement and stuff."

She glared at him.

"But it's called career day. As in, people with CAREERS." She said.

Behind Alan and Amy Matthews was a young boy, who looked about 18.

"Joshua is here too god dammit Cory!" hissed Morgan.

I didn't know why Morgan seemed worried, but I guess I was about to find out.

"Cory, sweetie, how are you?" Asked Amy.

"Great mom." He replied.

"And Morgan, how's my favorite doctor doing?"

Doctor? Morgan was a doctor? It sure as hell didn't seem like it.

Cory and Topanga looked equally confused.

"Doctor?" Said Topanga. "You're not a-"

Morgan stood up abruptly.

"Yes mom," she laughed uneasily. "You know me. You're favorite doctor."

She glanced at Riley's parents.

"Oh." Said Cory. "Yup. Doctor."

Morgan grabbed her parents by the hand and led them to the front of the class.

"Great. Mom, Dad, why don't you talk to the class about retirement and such, while I go head out."

Her father, Alan Matthews, shook his head.

"No Morgan, I'm sure these children don't want to hear about our boring old retirement stories. Tell them about your exciting career as a doctor."

That's when I realized that Morgan wasn't actually a doctor. She was pretending. But why?

"I actually have to go do surgery right now..." Said Morgan, heading towards the door.

The boy named Joshua stepped in front of her, blocking the exit.

"No my dear sister, please enlighten us with your medical stories." He said.

He was Morgan and Cory's brother? What an age difference! So he was Riley's uncle. Weird. He could be her brother.

"Josh, get out of my way."

He smirked, and turned towards the class.

"Who wants to hear about Morgan's career?" He asked.

Everyone cheered. I didn't. If Morgan was pretending to be a doctor she must have a reason.

She glared at this girl next to me, who seemed to be clapping the loudest.

"Fine." She stood in the front of the class. "So being a doctor is difficult work, but if you try hard, you will succeed. So...um, I guess that it's an interesting job. I get to operate on people, which is great."

The girl next to me raised her hand.

"No questions." Said Morgan in a deep, serious voice.

The girl asked her question anyway.

"Is the current history of symptomatic cholecystitis acute or chronic, with or without cholelithiasis postcholecystectomy syndrome or other disorders of the gallbladder and biliary system disqualifying?"

Morgan gave her a blank look.

"Huh?"

The girl smirked.

"You're not a doctor."

Morgan shook her head.

"Of course I'm a doctor. I just refuse to answer your question because I clearly stated I was not responding to questions."

The girl seemed out to get Morgan.

"Well, the correct answer is that Cholecystectomy is not disqualifying if performed greater than 6 moths prior to examination and if the patient remains asymptomatic."

Morgan made a face.

"Who the hell are you?"

"Bertha."

"Make some friends sweetie."

I tried not to laugh. I didn't want to make Bertha feel bad, but Morgan was right. Bertha was an arrogant, obnoxious student who got all the answers to everything right. And she didn't have any friends. Morgan was just the first person to tell her that.

I contained my laughter, and I saw Lucas and Riley trying to do the same. Farkle was smiling.

I stood up.

"Well Morgan, I think you should head out and you know, go...operate." I said trying to help her out.

She looked at me gratefully.

"Um, yes I should go."

She walked out of the classroom, punching Joshua on her way out.
