About time.
I get a small thrill at the last tidbit of information I've gleaned from the lush sitting in front of me, chattering incessantly about trivial gossip to them, but to me; this is everything. This changes everything.
So trusting.
Big mistake.
"She's going to be so pissed when she finds out about this. It's going to crack her. Everybody has their limit."
I nod and take a small sip from the light colored fruity drink sitting in front of me, grimacing only slightly. I've always hated the way it tastes, but for appearances sake, it will have to do.
Sensing that my drinking buddy has reached the end of their story and is now lightly sleeping on the bar ledge, I pay the bartender and collect my things off the bartop.
Stepping out of the bar and ignoring the late night jeering, I stroll down the street, keys jingling in hand as I remote start my car to warm and air conditioning to start doing its job. Checking the perimeter of my car, I get in and drive the 20 minute breeze to my home.
After parking, I glance into the car parked behind mine and grimace at the plates.
"It's almost time," I lightly remind myself, plastering on the fakest smile I can muster while turning the key in the door.
