I should have seen it coming.
My sister was always happily oblivious but, she always had a way of knowing things. I guess I just took for granted that I'd ever see the day my own sister would be the one to end my life. After I killed our parents, she got Uncle Aiden and I got that... that place.
Still, I always thought I'd always have my sister.
As the bullet rips through my chest, a fleeting moment of warmth spreads through my body before I feel all the air I've ever dared to breathe releasing itself from my body as I crumple to the ground. The last moments of my senses take in the crisp smell of vibrant wine spilled on wet leaves. My ears pick up my sister walking towards me, the leaves crunching under her feet lightly, her steps feline and agile.
The last thing I see is Liv standing over my body, the moon clearly showing the tears glistening in her eyes as my last slides down my face. My sister.
"Liv... please don't leave me here like this." I silently plead, the blood trickling down the corners of my lips making it impossible to speak.
"I'm sorry I failed you," she whispers into the heavy night air, before turning on her heel and walking away.
And then it all dulls away into nothingness.
